About the Business Unit

The Languages business encompasses all non-English or Indic Brands within the Times Internet portfolio, featuring a presence in eight regional languages across India, including Navbharat Times in Hindi ,Maharashtra Times in Marathi, Vijay Karnataka in Kannada, Samayam in Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam, and I am Gujarat.

Our Languages division stands as the fastest-growing regional content platform in India. We have an audience base of 180 million users, with approximately one in every four Indians engaging with Times Internet Languages Platforms. We are the leading news and information player in the Indic Languages category on Comscore. We have maintained this dominance for several years now.

Diversity is at the heart of our community. Our audience is predominantly young, primarily below the age of 34 and has a strong female presence. We have a strong presence on social platforms with 24Mn followers on Facebook and 14Mn subscribers on Youtube, as on 15th Apr’24.

We have recently expanded our portfolio with two new brands. ET Regional, an extension of The Economic

Times into Indic languages, positioned as the go-to hub for financially savvy users from diverse linguistic backgrounds.

Additionally, we launched TimesXP, a video-first platform for Indic languages, with a vision to democratize internet access for unlettered audiences.


About the Role

The digital content producer needs to create original, engaging content, which is helpful in nature. Should be able to understand the requirements of the portal and deliver the content in time. Entertainment and TV are major contributing sections, and the writer needs to write trustworthy, authoritative content using experience and expertise in the field. Also, needs to create videos, do interviews etc on any relevant topic.


Work Responsibilities

● Write engulfing, engaging, innovative content, at least 7-8 per day, with at least 300-350 words.

● Should learn and create Web Stories on trending and latest topics, as per the need.

● Develop contacts in the Film and Television industry to get exclusive content.

● Should be ready to work in any shift, starting from morning at 5 AM and ending at 1 PM.

● Learn to use several tools to analyze data and work accordingly.

● Create in-house videos, do exclusive interviews of film and television stars, do vox-pops during film release.

● Whenever necessary should be ready to go out and cover any event, along with the

cameraman.


Skills, Experience & Expertise

● Should have worked in any media where there is exposure to digital content creation.

● Work experience of 3-5 years is necessary.

● Should have good hold on Kannada and should be able to write without any mistakes.

● Good communication and analytical skills

● Should have experience facing camera.


Eligibility

● A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a related field of work, especially in digital environment.

● Post graduate/Mass communication in journalism college.

● Specialization in writing TV serial related content.
