Job Purpose:


The architect / Engineering Manager for mobile Apps will be responsible for optimizing user experience, implementing robust mobile architectures, and ensuring seamless cross-platform functionality. Adept at collaborating with cross-functional teams and delivering innovative solutions to meet business objectives, this role involves a combination of technical, managerial, and strategic responsibilities, a few of which are mentioned below.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Developing and executing the overall strategy, design and Architecture for B2C and B2B Mobile applications, including defining the product roadmap, feature prioritization and delivery timelines.
  • Accountable for the design, for the ease of evolution, quality of the systems, performance, observability, scaling, and availability characteristics and limitations of the systems.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including product management, and business stakeholders, to ensure alignment and integration.
  • Design, optimize and integrate complex mobile applications with distributed backend microservices ensuring they are scalable, secure, and performant.
  • Enhancing the operational efficiencies, devising innovative solutions and leveraging the IT platform to create business differentiators.
  • Establishing and enforcing best practices for software development, quality assurance, and project management to ensure successful and timely delivery of the IT applications.
  • Architecting and designing apps using native controls, UI frameworks, interface builders, and event handling.
  • Staying up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends in the technology space, and identifying opportunities to enhance and innovate the platforms.
  • Drive code and design reviews of components / systems / products in scope and drive the architectural governance for them.
  • Strategizing & driving the projects covering areas of automation/process improvements, performance improvement, capacity upgrades, technology refresh.
  • Implement mechanisms to monitor and manage progress, milestones, and risks associated with the Mobile App development and implementation.
  • Leading and managing a team of developers, designers, and support engineers responsible for building and maintaining the Mobile applications.
  • mentor and guide the team members with design patterns, developing reusable artifacts/frameworks, re-usable assets development.
  • Managing vendor relationships, including negotiating contracts and service-level agreements with third-party providers.


Job Requirements:


  • B. Tech. in Computer Science / Post Graduate in Computers
  • 15+ years of engineering management and architecture experience.
  • Strong experience in B2C and B2B Mobile architecture with a background in designing and leading the development of consumer-facing mobile applications.
  • Proficiency in software development methodologies, tools, and technologies, including Agile, DevOps and cloud computing.
  • Experience in building large-scale, high-traffic and secure mobile and web applications.
  • Strong understanding of architecture and design principles, such as microservices, APIs, and service-oriented architecture (SOA).
