A newly established charitable eye hospital is seeking a highly motivated and experienced ophthalmologist to join as the Senior Ophthalmologist and Medical Director. This position offers the opportunity to lead a state-of-the-art ophthalmological center affiliated with a globally renowned institute.Mission:

To provide exceptional, quality-driven eye care to all in need, with a spirit of service and compassion.Key Responsibilities:Manage and conduct clinical activities in the OPD.Teach, mentor, and supervise junior ophthalmologists.Perform and manage surgeries.Collaborate with visiting senior ophthalmologists.Oversee quality and patient safety initiatives.Manage and report on the hospital’s performance and outcomes data.Supervise administrative and clinical staff, including Vision Technicians, Operating Room Technicians, and Nurses.Work with trustees on HR and financial decisions.Ensure compliance with standards and operating systems, including EMR systems.Oversee community and rural outreach programs.Develop and review core clinical SOPs.Regularly report to the Board of Trustees.Update and work closely with the Medical Advisory Board.Conduct approved research.Adhere to ethical standards and operating principles.

Qualifications:MS, DNB in Ophthalmology (fellowship-trained candidates preferred).Minimum of 5 years post-graduate clinical experience.Research experience and publication in peer-reviewed journals are preferred.Competence in comprehensive eye examination, indirect ophthalmoscopy, refraction, phacoemulsification, small incision cataract surgery, filtering surgery, lid surgery, and minor ophthalmological procedures.Two references from clinicians the candidate has directly worked with.Commitment:Full-time position with a minimum 3-year commitment.Salary & Benefits:Negotiable based on experience and qualifications.Accommodation can be arranged in Palitana or Bhavnagar.Additional benefits to be negotiated on a case-by-case basis.Malpractice insurance coverage.
