Kubernetes Administrator

About Position:

We are looking for Kubernetes Administrator having Overall 8 + years of IT industry experience in DevOps, Automation or Development who will be working on Kubernetes clusters in Oracle Cloud and AWS and managing tens production clusters at scale.

What You'll Do:

• Administer and Manage Kubernetes clusters in Oracle Cloud and AWS.
• Manage various foundational services of the cluster such as external-DNS, external secrets, Ingress controllers etc.
• Ensure cost optimizations of clusters by monitoring the cost and implementing optimization strategies.
• Keep clusters upgraded to the latest version.
• Monitor alerts from clusters for any issues happening and fix those.
• Design, implement and deploy helm charts for various foundational services.
• Work with GitOps based approach using ArgoCD for deployment of services to clusters.
• Work with Terragrunt, Terraform and Atlantis for GitOps based mechanism for cluster creation, upgrades etc.
• Automate CI workflow using GitHub Actions, Jenkins.
• Develop monitors and build alerts around error conditions and performance.
• Work with Kubernetes Operators for implementing them, deploying them as required.
• Follow best practices, work with application teams on best practices and ensure they are followed.
• Ensure testing of everything done by you and the team.
• Be expected to learn new things and technologies as needed.
• Be on call when needed to support the infrastructure and our systems

Expertise You'll Bring:

• Overall, 8 + years of IT industry experience in DevOps, Automation or Development.
• 3+ years of managing tens production clusters at scale with each node running tens of nodes.
• Experienced in production clusters upgrades.
• Understands the challenges in upgrading production clusters such as API dependencies etc.
• Used Terraform to create clusters in cloud.
• Hands-on with automation stack such as shell scripting, python or GoLang for automating various needs in cluster management.
• Problem solving ability with python or other programming languages.
• Good to have Kubernetes Controller implementation experience in GoLang or other methods.
• Used Cloud SDKs such as Boto3 or other cloud service providers as part of earlier project work.
