Senior Software Engineer – Backend & System Anchor (SDE III / Senior SDE II)OverviewWiseshift is building a next-generation B2B commerce and inventory automation platform for FMCG businesses - bridging physical supply chains with digital intelligence.We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to own the backend design, system integrations, and infrastructure for Wiseshift. During major releases or critical phases, team members may need to collaborate beyond standard workdays to ensure timely delivery and quality - like any fast-moving startup, we value ownership and adaptability.Key Responsibilities- Own and evolve the Node.js / Express backend (TypeScript + Sequelize). - Manage and optimize PostgreSQL schemas, queries, and migrations. - Design and implement REST APIs for web and mobile clients. - Integrate StackAuth, GST/E-invoice APIs, and other third-party services. - Introduce Redis caching, RabbitMQ, and worker queues for async processing. - Dockerize services and manage CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions / Render / AWS). - Establish observability (logging, metrics, tracing) for operational reliability. - Conduct code reviews, mentor the junior engineer, and enforce code quality standards. - Collaborate asynchronously with the consultant/architect/lead using documentation and debugging. - Participate in architectural discussions and propose performance/scale improvements.Tech Stack- Languages & Frameworks: Node.js, TypeScript, Express - Database: PostgreSQL (Sequelize ORM) - Infra & Tools: Docker, GitHub Actions, Render / AWS - Cache & Queue (future): Redis, RabbitMQ - Auth: StackAuth, JWT - Collaboration: GitHub, Notion, Slack, Zoom/Teams - Plus: Flexibility to experiment with emerging tools and frameworks as the platform evolves.Qualifications- 5 - 8 years of backend or full-stack experience in SaaS or B2B platforms. - Proven experience designing REST APIs and data models at scale. - Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL optimization and indexing. - Hands-on with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud deployment. - Comfortable working asynchronously in a small, fast-moving team. - Ownership mindset — ability to operate independently with minimal supervision. - Ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment with shifting priorities and tight deadlines. - Comfortable taking ownership of tasks while collaborating asynchronously across teams. - Eagerness to learn new-generation technologies and contribute to real product decisions. - Openness to feedback, documentation, and continuous improvement. - As an early engineer at Wiseshift, you’ll shape the platform, take ownership of high-impact initiatives, and build a strong foundation for your career growth.
