About The Senior Medical Data Abstractor Role:

A Triomics Senior Medical Data Abstractor is an essential part of our goal of ensuring that every cancer patient is offered clinical research as a care pathway. The ultimate goal of this role is to provide as many patients as possible with the additional optionality of a potentially life-saving treatment in the form of participation in clinical trials. This role meticulously reviews and abstracts critical data from oncology patient charts to support clinical decisions, research initiatives, and healthcare operations.


The specialist ensures the integrity, accuracy, and confidentiality of abstracted patient information, contributing directly to the quality of patient care and the advancement of oncology research. A key value differentiator for the business and this role is our proprietary AI platform leveraging OncoLLMTM, which will assist you in your function. We will train you on how best to utilize the technology and, in turn, request your feedback and input on the product to optimize the user interface and capabilities to maximize both your role and the goals of the institution to which you are assigned.


Key Responsibilities:

● Can efficiently and accurately abstract medical record data related to specified disease and project requirements. Oncology experience is a requirement for this role, including familiarity with how cancer is treated from diagnosis through treatment recovery and an understanding of cancer terminology as a whole.

● Understand the Inclusion and exclusion criteria, adverse events, hospitalization data, and

medication details and categorize the data accordingly. Ability to understand the diagnostic,

pathology, and other reports and obtain the required exact information

● Share medical knowledge and project-specific procedural knowledge with other Data Abstractors as needed.

● Robust technology skillset and comfortability are working most of your time online, given the remote nature of the role.

● Ability to navigate electronic medical record systems and other health record databases and review/assess these medical records.


We are seeking individuals who have one or more of the following backgrounds:

● Bachelor’s degree in Medicine, Health Information Management, or a related field. A Master’s degree or certification in oncology, medical coding, or health informatics is highly desirable.

● Data abstractors who have spent time focused entirely on oncology (extracting data specific for patient trial matching, I/E criteria, and cancer research use cases a positive)

● Registrar/Data Manager with some or complete focus on oncology

● Other roles that have had a high degree of engagement with patient data, oncology, and/or clinical research.

● A bachelor's degree or higher is required in a relevant field, a minimum of three years

experience in one of the above fields, and a minimum of two years experience working in

oncology specifically.
