Job Description

REFID674769Senior Software EngineerA Senior software engineer at BASES in NielsenIQ is a technical oriented individual who can deliver on web-based software projects. This role will require the individual to be very hands-on in developing software and be able to guide the rest of the team. The individual will be required to manage the day-to-day activities of the team. This job will need effective communication with product managers and product leadership across multiple geographies.ResponsibilitiesDesign and architect new single-page web applications and develop key system features.Explore and evaluate technologies to advance software as a service platform and grow businessLead a team that will execute projects from beginning to end, including working with product management, gathering requirements, brainstorming solutions, building final applications and testing.Delegate tasks to team members matching their individual experience to the task to promote engagement, learning and probability of success.Supply practical technical guidance to your product manager partner to increase the odds of overall project success.Troubleshoot technical issues as they appearEscalate technical issues affecting activities outside of your team.Enforce community best practices and team SDLC guidelinesWork with your QA lead partner to ensure the overall quality of project deliverables.Mentor more junior developers and encourage senior developers to mentor as well.Work closely with architects, and other teams to design and implement cross functional requirementsLead design and code reviews encouraging participation of your team members .

Qualifications

Education and experience4 to 8 years of software development / engineering experienceMS/BS in Software Engineering or related disciplineTechnical skillsProficiency in Git, including branching, merging, version control, and collaborative development workflows.Proficiency in REST API design, encompassing best practices, optimal performance, security, versioning, HATEOAS principles, HTTP methods, hypermedia formats, API testing - Must HaveExperience with .NET Core API development is a plus – Must HaveExperience with Full Stack Software Development – Must HaveExperience in Back End programming in Java, Springboot with Hibernate – Must HaveExperience with microservice development is a plus – PreferredUnderstanding of relational databases such as MS SQL Server – Must HaveExperience in User Interface programming with Javascript frameworks like Angular – Must HaveExperience in web application development – Must HaveFamiliarity with Agile process – PreferredPassion for learning new technologies – Must HaveExperience with IaaS & PaaS from a cloud vendor is a plus. Azure preferred. - PreferredExperience with Docker and Kubernetes is a plus - Preferred
