1. Database Administration

· Install, configure, and upgrade Microsoft SQL Server instances on-premises and cloud.

· Manage database objects including tables, indexes, views, stored procedures, and functions.

· Monitor database performance and implement tuning measures to optimize performance.

· Perform database capacity planning and forecasting.

  • Backup & Recovery
  • Implement and maintain database backup and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Ensure regular backup testing for integrity and restore capability.
  • Security & Compliance
  • Manage database security including roles, permissions, and encryption.
  • Monitoring & Maintenance
  • Proactively monitor database health using native tools or third-party monitoring solutions.
  • Automate routine tasks using scripts and jobs.
  • Support & Troubleshooting
  • Provide L2/L3 support for database issues.
  • Troubleshoot blocking, deadlocks, and query performance problems.
  • Work with developers to optimize SQL queries and database design.
  • High Availability & DR
  • Configure and maintain Always On Availability Groups, Replication, and Failover Clustering.
  • Participate in DR drills and ensure readiness.
  • Knowledge of SQL Log Shipping
  • Documentation
  • Maintain detailed documentation for database configurations, processes, and SOPs.
