Job Summary:

Chargbee is looking for a hands-on technical leader for architecting, designing, and developing technical solutions to collect, manage, store and visualize data from a wide range of sources in scalable , performant and highly available manner. As an Architect, you will be responsible for all products shipped out by the engineering team including selection of technologies, architecture, development, QA, dev-ops and their performance. In this role, you will play a key role in defining, designing, and building predictive analysis using AI/ML modules to leverage these datasets effectively.

Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the key responsibilities include:

• As an Architect of the portfolio, you will build, inspire, and grow talented engineering teams that are responsible for designing and building end-to-end product capabilities for Chargebee’s Subscription centric Platform.
• You will work with product management and engineering teams to influence key decisions on architecture and implementation of scalable, reliable, and cost-effective engineering solutions.
• You will be expected to bring thought leadership to advance the overall state of technology and customer focus for the entire engineering organization.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Collaborate and derive technical vision for the Core Subscriptions Platform.
• Articulate problem statements, identify user stories, document functional and non-functional requirements.
• Drive system design using standard practices & patterns viz. domain driven design and hexagonal architecture.
• Pro-actively setup reviews for design and code. Provide guidance to engineering teams during implementation and deployment.
• Build strong relations with partner organizations to align technical effort with market & customer needs.
• Likes to articulate vision in-depth while inviting critics for positive technical debates & discussions.
• Clearly communicate architectural and design decisions to all stakeholders.
• Collaborate with multiple internal and external teams to execute the technical vision.

Must haves:

• Overall 12+ years of experience in architecting, designing and implementing large scale cloud based products and solutions.
• Experience creating/supporting production software/systems and a proven track record of identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks for production systems.
• Hands-on experience with building global scale cloud-native systems and modern tech stack: AWS, Java, Spring Framework, RESTful API, and container-based application.
• Strong understanding of Agile and DevOps practices across SDLC
• Track record of building and scaling SaaS products
• Excellent problem solving and programming skills; proven technical leadership and communication skills.
• Intellectually curious and ability to learn new tools and paradigms in computer science.
• Thinks out-of-the-box when it comes to deriving innovative & efficient solutions to complex problems.
• Can communicate and evangelize large impactful initiatives across the organization.
• Experience architecting and designing data products in Streaming, Serverless and Microservices/API based loosely coupled Architecture and platform.
