Meet the team:
Program Management at Silicon Labs is recognized as a core function, enabling the company to excel in product development execution and delivery. This role will be responsible for overseeing a team of IC/HW program managers who plan and lead new wireless semiconductor product development starting at project concept continuing through, definition, IC design, validation, customer sampling, characterization, qualifications, initial product launch and closing the project when released to full production.
Program management engages at concept and definition phases to help determine effort, resource needs and schedule to ensure the execution plan supports the business requirements and timing. Once a project is approved, program management drives the entire program execution. At Silicon Labs that requires managing a very diverse global support infrastructure and numerous sub-project components that must be planned, monitored and integrated at different points of maturity into the final platform solution.

With innovation comes technical challenges, that program management drives with risk assessments and mitigation plans that are implemented to minimize impact to committed deliverables. Solid anticipation, planning, collaboration, and communication skills are required for successful execution.
What we’re looking for:
People
Manage Hyderabad team of IC/HW technical program managers
Establish team vision, mission, and objectives in line with overall PMO and company vision
Set direction, guide, and mentor project management team in realization of the vision while promoting continuous learning and growth within the team
Mentor and develop program management talent, building a high-performing team capable of delivering strategic outcomes.
Foster strong working relationships with all organizations outside the PMO - collaborate and influence R&D, Product Management, Business teams in progressing the Product Portfolio.
Product Development Execution
Provide overall program management leadership for new products from concept to production and market release
Collaborate with leaders and individual contributors across the spectrum of functional teams such as IC Design, HW design, Test Managers, SW development, Applications, validation, Operations and Product Management to create, manage and execute schedules
Develop and execute program management strategies and initiatives that support organizational objectives and drive towards PMO and Silicon Labs goals.
Organize and facilitate cross-functional activities, nurturing collaboration and ongoing alignment to ensure requirements are met, on schedule and within resource constraints
Create bottom-up program/project plans including WBS, scheduling, resource forecasts, team enablement and executing using project management best practices and tools
Record detailed requirements, commitments, constraints, dependencies, and assumptions with team members to form the program charter and project management plan.
Monitor schedule and criteria performance using appropriate tools and techniques to measure the progress and health of the program
Proactively recognize risks and deviations from plan, create options and drive approved actions and workarounds required to mitigate and minimize the impact to the program
Ensure requests introduced to the program that affect scope are manage appropriately through established processes and do not impact planned execution prior to acceptance
Process / Tools
Drive continuous process improvement across cross-functional teams to enable efficient execution and ensure visibility into what we are doing and why we are doing it.
Improve, enhance, and expand the program planning framework from concept through production and market release.
Work to enhance tools, processes, and framework on our HW prioritization, planning, and delivery execution models.
Enhance and augment existing tools, metrics, and decision data to drive decision making and KPIs for all deliverables.
The role
This role offers the opportunity to drive continuous improvement in project management at Silicon Labs while working on high-impact products that directly contribute to the Silicon Labs’ success. Guide the project management team, foster a culture of learning and growth, and collaborate with various stakeholders across the company. This role requires excellent communication and relationship building while partnering with stakeholders such as R&D, Product Management, Business teams, and the executive team.
Skills You Will Need
Demonstrated leadership and influencing skills, with the ability to foster relationships, build trust and influence, inspire and motivate teams, and drive change at the senior leadership level
Working knowledge of, or experience with, wireless SoC IC design, HW/SW development tools, modules and their interactions/enablement of the platform system solution
Ability to maintain a healthy pressure and challenge teams where there might be opportunity or need to improve or change an outcome
Advanced degree in engineering or MBA and certifications in project management considered a plus
Education and/or Experience:
BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical field
10+ years of experience in program management or related roles, with a proven track record of leading a team and delivering complex, strategic initiatives
