We are looking for a Linux Server Image Build Engineer to join our team and help us create, maintain, and deploy custom Linux server images for our Hybrid Cloud Organization in Lumen. You will be responsible for designing, testing, and troubleshooting Linux server images that meet the specific requirements and security standards of each project. This role will also help support the automated deployment of VMs and bare metal servers. You will also collaborate with other engineers and developers to ensure the compatibility and performance of the Linux server images across different platforms and environments.


Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain Linux server images using tools such as Packer, Ansible, and Terraform.
  • Test and troubleshoot Linux server images using tools such as Vagrant, VirtualBox, and AWS.
  • Deploy and update Linux server images using tools such as Jenkins, Git, and AWS.
  • Document and communicate the specifications and best practices of Linux server images.
  • Write & Support Ansible automation and environments.
  • Collaborate with other engineers and developers to ensure the quality and compatibility of Linux server images.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience in Linux server administration with Ubuntu & RHEL and configuration management.
  • Proficient in scripting languages such as Bash and Python.
  • Experience with Linux server image creation and deployment tools such as Packer, Ansible, Terraform, Vagrant, VirtualBox, Jenkins, Git, and AWS.
  • Knowledge of Linux server security and performance optimization techniques.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
