Detailed JD (Roles and Responsibilities) The Oracle Performance DBA is responsible for ensuring the optimal performance, reliability, and scalability of Oracle database systems. This role involves advanced performance tuning, troubleshooting, and collaboration with development to maintain high-performing database environments. Analyze and optimize Oracle database performance using tools like AWR, ASH, ADDM, SQL Tuning Advisor, SQL Access Advisor etc. Optimized PL/SQL procedures and SQL queries, resulting in significant improvements in application throughput and resource utilization. Restructure queries and procedures to reduce resource consumption and improve execution plans. Tune materialized views for efficient refresh strategies, ensuring compatibility with fast refresh mechanisms. Simplify MV definitions by eliminating unsupported constructs and optimizing joins, aggregations, and filters for better execution plans. Analyze execution plans and trace files to identify bottlenecks and recommend query rewrites. Implement and balance indexing and partitioning strategies to optimize query performance, considering trade-offs between access speed, maintenance overhead, and storage efficiency. Monitor and validate MV refresh operations using DBMS_MVIEW and related views, ensuring data accuracy and timely availability. Tune SQL queries and PL/SQL code for optimal execution plans. Automated routine DBA tasks using shell scripting, DBMS package to increase operational efficiency and reducing manual errors.
