Job Description: Cloud FinOps Analyst

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical Cloud FinOps Engineer/Analyst to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for driving cost optimization and efficiency across our cloud infrastructure. You will work closely with cloud operations, database team and delivery teams, to develop and implement FinOps best practices, track cloud spending, identify cost-saving opportunities, and build a culture of cost awareness.

Responsibilities:

  • Cloud Cost Management: Monitor and analyse cloud spending across various services related to Servers, Databases, Storage, Endpoints
  • Cost Optimization: Identify and implement cost optimization strategies, including right-sizing resources, reserved instances, spot instances, and other cost-saving mechanisms.
  • Budgeting and Cost Alerting: Develop and maintain cloud cost alerts and budgets, working with finance to ensure alignment.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Create and maintain dashboards and reports to track key cost metrics, identify trends, and communicate cost insights to stakeholders.
  • Automation: Automate cost management processes, such as resource tagging, cost allocation, and reporting.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with engineering teams to promote cost-conscious development practices and ensure efficient resource utilization.
  • FinOps Framework: Contribute to the development and implementation of a robust FinOps framework within the organization.
  • Vendor Management: Work with cloud providers to negotiate pricing and optimize contract terms.
  • Stay Current: Keep up to date with the latest cloud cost optimization trends, tools, and best practices.
  • Cost Allocation: Develop and maintain a cost allocation model to accurately attribute cloud costs to different teams and business units.
