Cell Processing Specialist - Cell Therapy

Location: Khar, Mumbai

ALIV is seeking a skilled and experienced Cell Processing Specialist to join our autologous stem cell therapy clinic. The Cell Processing Specialist will be responsible for handling and processing bone marrow-derived and adipose tissue-derived stem cells, as well as other related tasks. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, has a strong background in cell processing techniques, and adheres to strict quality control and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform isolation, purification, and expansion of autologous stem cells derived from bone marrow and adipose tissue.
  • Handle and process biological samples, ensuring adherence to aseptic techniques and maintaining sterility throughout the cell processing workflow.
  • Conduct quality control assessments to ensure the viability, purity, and potency of processed stem cells.
  • Monitor and maintain laboratory equipment and supplies necessary for cell processing procedures.
  • Follow established protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for cell processing, while also contributing to the development and optimization of new protocols.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of cell processing procedures, including batch records, data logs, and inventory management.
  • Collaborate with the research and clinical teams to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of processed stem cells for therapeutic purposes.
  • Assist in the development and validation of analytical methods for characterizing and assessing the quality of processed stem cells.
  • Adhere to applicable regulatory and accreditation requirements, such as FDA regulations and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Stay informed about advancements and trends in stem cell research, cell processing techniques, and relevant regulations to ensure compliance and contribute to continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant scientific field (e.g., Biology, Biotechnology, Cell Biology, Biomedical Engineering).
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a cell processing laboratory, preferably in an autologous stem cell therapy setting.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in handling and processing bone marrow-derived and adipose tissue-derived stem cells.
  • Proficiency in aseptic techniques and working in a cleanroom or controlled environment.
  • Familiarity with laboratory equipment used in cell processing (e.g., centrifuges, incubators, flow cytometers).
  • Understanding of quality control processes and techniques for assessing cell viability, purity, and potency.
  • Experience with cell expansion and cell culture techniques.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and quality standards related to cell processing and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to accurately document and record laboratory procedures.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, critical thinking skills, and ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
