Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Hardware and Networking Engineer to join our IT team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining hardware and networking systems. They will ensure the stability and integrity of in-house voice, data, video, and wireless network services. Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for asset management, ensuring all IT assets are tracked, managed, and maintained efficiently.


Key Responsibilities:


Hardware Management:

- Install, configure, and maintain hardware components including desktops, laptops, servers, printers, and other peripheral devices.

- Perform hardware upgrades and repairs as needed.

- Manage hardware inventory and ensure optimal functioning of all hardware systems.


Networking:

- Design, implement, and manage local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs).

- Configure and manage network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and access points.

- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure network availability and reliability.

- Ensure network security by implementing and maintaining appropriate security measures.


Technical Support:

- Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to end-users for hardware and network-related issues.

- Resolve technical problems related to hardware and networking in a timely and efficient manner.

- Conduct regular system and network updates and backups.


Asset Management:

- Maintain an accurate inventory of all IT assets and ensure proper documentation.

- Coordinate with procurement for the acquisition and disposal of IT assets.

- Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with asset management policies and procedures.

- Develop and implement strategies for asset lifecycle management.

 

Documentation:

- Maintain detailed documentation of hardware and network configurations, changes, and upgrades.

- Create and update user manuals and technical support documentation.

Collaboration:

- Work closely with other IT team members to support overall IT operations.

- Collaborate with vendors and service providers for hardware and network-related purchases and services.

- Assist in IT project planning and implementation.


Qualifications:

- Proven experience as a Hardware and Networking Engineer or similar role.

- Strong knowledge of hardware components, networking protocols, and network management tools.

- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Good communication and interpersonal skills.

- Experience in asset management and inventory control.


Working Conditions:

- Office environment with occasional on-site work.

- Occasional after-hours or weekend work may be required for maintenance or emergency support.
