Job Description:

  • Lead the development of cutting-edge control solutions for battery systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system architectures that seamlessly integrate battery technology into Epiroc’s electrified platforms.
  • Drive new platform developments for battery systems, ensuring alignment with Epiroc’s electrification goals.
  • Work closely with electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, and project managers to implement battery solutions.
  • Specify open-loop model requirements and interface them with the rest of the Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) model.
  • Specify control system philosophies, I/O lists, network diagrams, and approve software design (SWD).
  • Apply advanced control algorithms (e.g., nonlinear, PID) to enhance system performance.
  • Create logic and HMI (Human-Machine Interface) code to optimize system performance.
  • Design battery control system software using MATLAB Simulink
  • Work with product verification and validation teams to ensure evaluation criteria are established/validated as per design.
  • Manage system engineering information and bidirectional traceability between system requirements, system architecture and test cases.
  • Manage and controls all installed systems and equipment for the firm to ensure compliance with company policies and standard operating procedures (SOP).
  • Collaborates with other experts to achieve high-quality outputs within the framework of the organization's rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
  • Lead project teams in the development, testing, and deployment of control systems.
  • Deals with work processes, optimization methodologies, and risk management tools in assigned projects to ensure effective completion following stakeholder needs.

Experience Requirements:

· 8 + yrs. of experience - Mining / Earth moving equipment /off road vehicles /Automobiles /Industrial automation.

· 8+ years of experience with System engineering \testing & validation experience in Equipment / Sub System products, preferably in battery-related projects

· Experienced in developing and delivering at least 1 customer product as per NPD process.

· 2+ years of management experience or leading technical teams and projects.

· Strong understanding of Power electronics, battery management systems and electrification technologies.

· Data logging and Analysis experience.
