We are Mobile Premier League (MPL), one of India's largest esports and mobile gaming platforms. We have grown and scaled multifold over the last few years. We hit 5 billion games played on MPL within a year of starting up and our current user base is over 80+ million. Some of our marquee investors include Sequoia Capital, SIG, Times Internet, and GoVentures. We currently have over 80 games on our platform. Multiple mainstream as well as Indie game developers are our partners. Creating and re-inventing has been a key practice here and at this point we require folks who can help us keep pace with the dynamic ecosystem we are all a part of.

We are seeking a skilled Technical Artist to enhance our 2D mobile games in Unity. This role involves not only assisting the design team in bringing their vision to life in Unity but also leading animation and effects efforts to improve player experience. You will streamline art production, optimize visual effects, and establish best practices for Unity mobile game :

- Collaborate with Art, Design, and Engineering teams to develop and implement art pipelines, tools, and features in Unity.

- Create and import assets and animations into game engines, ensuring a balance between visual quality and game performance.

- Develop and optimize stunning VFX using shaders for mobile platforms.

- Implement, maintain, and optimize UI assets and animations, addressing technical issues and enhancing UI performance.

- Establish benchmarks for in-game visual quality in collaboration with the Art team.

- Support the Art team throughout production by resolving technical roadblocks and facilitating smooth collaboration between Art and Engineering.

- Engage with R&D teams as needed.

Requirements :

- Minimum 4 years of experience as a technical artist, specializing in 2D animations in Unity.

- Strong understanding of current animation trends in games.

- Proficient in After Effects and Unity.

- Solid grasp of Unity and shader languages (HLSL & GLSL) for mobile game development.

- Extensive portfolio showcasing professional work in art, animations, tools, and more.

- Artistic eye with deep knowledge of 2D art creation and integration.

- Expertise in Particle FX creation.

- Ability to identify and troubleshoot GPU and CPU bottlenecks.

- Proficient in using mobile profiling tools like RenderDoc, Android GPU Inspector, or Instruments on iOS.

- Passionate individual contributor with leadership potential as the scope of work expands.

- Strong communication skills, excellent collaboration ability, and consistency in meeting deadlines.

Pluses :

- Passionate about indie and mobile games with a drive for excellence.

- Experience with 3D tools and techniques.
