Roles & ResponsibilitiesThe Assistant Manager / Senior Engineer, Production Planning & Scheduling, will play an important role in optimizing production workflows within the aerospace casting manufacturing facility at PTC. This position involves developing, maintaining, and managing production schedules to meet customer orders and business objectives. The role requires close collaboration with various departments to ensure efficient resource allocation, timely production, and adherence to quality standards.Key Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain detailed production schedules based on customer orders, inventory levels, and production capacity, ensuring alignment with business objectives and operational efficiency.Coordinate with department heads to effectively allocate resources, including manpower, equipment, and materials, to meet production requirements and optimize productivity.Liaise with production supervisors, engineers, and other stakeholders to schedule and oversee production activities, including machining, casting, and finishing processes.Analyze production capacity and identify potential bottlenecks or constraints, implementing strategies to optimize resource utilization and enhance production efficiency.Manage and monitor lead times for each stage of the production process, focusing on reducing cycle times and improving overall production efficiency.Oversee the monitoring of inventory levels for raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods to ensure adequate stock availability while minimizing excess inventory and obsolescence.Identify potential risks and disruptions to production schedules, develop contingency plans, and implement proactive measures to mitigate risks and minimize their impact on production operations.Create and oversee the Master Production Schedule (MPS), outlining the production plan for aerospace castings over specified time horizons in the ERP system.Generate and review Material Requirements Planning (MRP) reports through the ERP system, ensuring timely and accurate production planning for both direct raw materials and consumables.Regularly update the outstanding order report by extracting and analyzing relevant information from sales order bookings, ensuring accurate and up-to-date data.Oversee documentation related to AS9100 audits for the planning department, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.Generate and analyze Plan vs. Actual reports to track production performance, identify variances, and provide insights and recommendations for improvement to the production team and senior management.Collaborate with the dispatch team to prepare effective plans for order shipments to ensure timely and accurate delivery of products.Generate regular Plan vs Actual report to track variance in production and highlight it to Plant Head and production team.

Desired Candidate ProfileEducation and Certifications:B.Tech/B.E in Materials Science/Production/Mechanical/Automobile, or a related field.Experience:4 to 7 years of proven experience in Production Planning and Scheduling in foundries or casting manufacturing operations.Experience in MRP preparation for the aerospace industry or precision castings industry will be highly preferred.Strong hands-on experience on any ERP platform.Technical / Functional Expertise & other competencies:Proficient in Production, Planning and Scheduling of activities in foundry and casting manufacturing industry,Advanced skills in ERP/ Excel to efficiently update and manage the Master Production Schedule (MPS), and outstanding order report derived from sales order bookings.Attention to detail and accuracy in scheduling and forecasting.Strong understanding of AS9100/ISO9001 standards for documentation related to planning and scheduling.Strong leadership and team management skills.Effective communication skills, assertiveness, and confidence for collaboration with cross-functional teams.
