Brief Description of Department: Critical Care

  • Advance learning Experience in tertiary care closed ICU
    SDM Critical Care is first of its kind in medical college in whole of north Karnataka.
  • It is 30 beds unit (CCICU + Step down) run as a closed unit by qualified full-time intensivists experienced local and internationally.
  • With advanced facilities like high end ventilators, CRRT, Plasma exchange, IABP, ECMO services.
  • It is first center to develop independent full time ECMO in our region (completed 29 cases in last two years).
  • Running Critical Care courses in collaboration with Indian Society Critical Care (IDCCM, CTCCM, IDCCN).
  • Two-year Critical Care Fellowship program by SDM University.
  • Critical Care DM program for the upcoming year.
  • SDM is a Super-Specialty unit with Renal transplant team, Advanced Hematology, Nephrology, Urology, Neuro- Surgical, Endocrine and Rheumatology teams enabling a wide case mix.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • DM / DrNB Critical Care Medicine, FNB Critical Care Medicine, IFCCM, IDCCM with 3 years of experience in Critical Care Medicine.
  • MD/DNB/ in General Medicine, Anastasia, Emergency Medicine, Pulmonology with 3 years of experience in Critical Care Medicine.
  • Teaching/Clinical experience desirable but not mandatory.

Job Description:

  • Shift Duties (9 AM - 5 PM) on rotation night calls
  • Compensatory Offs & leaves as per institute protocol.
