Job Description
An anonymous company is seeking a passionate and innovative R&D Manager to lead our research and development activities across Mexico and Latin America. This key role involves directing the development of new products, promoting sustainability, and working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure excellence in packaging and plastics innovation.
Key Responsibilities

Regional Division:

  • Oversee R&D activities in Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, and Colombia.
  • Collaborate with R&D Managers in each country and the engineering team in Michigan.

Business Strategy:

  • Align R&D initiatives with business strategy.
  • Foster growth through innovative solutions.

Innovation and Growth:

  • Develop and manage innovation projects.
  • Meet market demands and differentiate the company from competitors.

Sustainability:

  • Implement circular economy practices in material and packaging development.
  • Promote the use of recycled materials to minimize environmental impact.

Product Development:

  • Lead the development of new products from concept to delivery.
  • Provide direction and feedback to designers, without directly designing packaging.

Mold Design:

  • Work closely with quality, production, and engineering teams.
  • Design molds and ensure technical specifications are met.

Cross-Functional Interaction:

  • Collaborate with engineering, commercial, quality, and production teams.
  • Ensure project integration and success.

Project Management:

  • Use project management methodologies with major clients like Coca-Cola, Pepsi, and Gatorade.
  • Ensure discipline, communication, and planning.

Client Relations:

  • Maintain strong client relationships.
  • Understand client needs and offer innovative, customized solutions.

Talent Leadership:

  • Develop and train the R&D team.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and collaboration.

Production Presence:

  • Be present on the production floor.
  • Support various business startups and work with quality teams to define specifications.

Requirements

Education and Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Materials) or related fields.
  • Advanced degree preferred.
  • Project management certifications (PMP, PRINCE2) and agile methodologies (Scrum).
  • Quality certification (Six Sigma, ISO 9001) is desirable.

Experience:

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in a technical leadership role within the packaging and plastics industry.
  • Proven experience in mold design, product development, and managing complex projects.
  • Deep knowledge of sustainability practices and circular economy.
  • Experience working in cross-functional and international team environments.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in using blueprints and mold design.
  • Expertise in chemistry, physics, and engineering applied to product development.
  • Experience with project management software and computer-aided design (CAD) tools.

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to influence and work towards client satisfaction.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional environments.

Requirements
Key Responsibilities: - Strategy Development: Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy aligned with the company's overall business objectives. This includes identifying target markets, defining value propositions, and determining specific tactics. - Team Management: Supervise and lead a team of marketing professionals. Budget and Resources: Efficiently manage the company's marketing budget, strategically allocating resources. - Market Research: Conduct market research to understand market trends, customer needs, and competition. Utilize data and analysis to make informed decisions. - Project Management: Oversee the development and execution of marketing campaigns, advertising projects, promotional events, and other initiatives. Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. - Brand Development: Maintain and strengthen the company's brand identity. - Results Measurement: Establish metrics and KPIs to evaluate the performance of marketing strategies. Conduct ROI analysis and adjust strategies as needed to achieve better results. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus. 8+ years of experience in marketing. Experience and knowledge of the packaging industry. Strong leadership and team management skills. Excellent negotiation and communication abilities. Experience in marketing intelligence. Strong innovation skills. Detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills.
