We are seeking an experienced PostgreSQL Developer to work on database migration projects and optimize database performance.

The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in PostgreSQL and experience in migrating Mainframe DB2 to Azure PostgreSQL.

Roles and Responsibilities :

Database Migration :

- Execute database migration projects from Mainframe DB2 (on z/OS) to Azure PostgreSQL.

- Migrate DB2 database objects such as schemas, data, stored procedures, and constraints to PostgreSQL equivalents.

- Convert DB2 stored procedure functionality to PostgreSQL SQL code or write new PostgreSQL procedures and APIs.

PostgreSQL Development :

- Design and develop database schemas, tables, constraints, views, indexes, triggers, sequences, and usage lists in PostgreSQL.

- Optimize SQL queries and database configurations to enhance PostgreSQL performance.

- Write and maintain secure, high-quality database queries and code.

Quality Assurance and Collaboration :

- Ensure data quality, privacy, and security throughout database operations.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve seamless database migration and integration.

Skills and Qualifications Required :

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in PostgreSQL development and database migration.

- Strong hands-on experience with at least one full-cycle migration project from DB2 to Azure PostgreSQL.

- Proficiency in converting DB2 stored procedures to PostgreSQL equivalents.

- Expertise in designing and optimizing PostgreSQL database schemas and queries.

- Knowledge of database privacy and security best practices.

- Experience in working with Mainframe DB2 database objects.

- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
