Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for an Estimation Engineer at AQURA BUILDER AND DEVELOPER PRIVATE LIMITED in Pune. The Estimation Engineer will be responsible for setting and introducing the Estimation & Controlling function and tasks such as preparing BOQ, project estimation, conducting research, and utilising civil engineering knowledge to ensure accurate and cost-effective project estimates. The role will also involve negotiation and collaboration with various stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities

Cost Estimation:

  • Analyse project plans, specifications, and other documents to determine the scope of work.
  • Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and other project-related costs.
  • Develop and maintain a database of costs, including material, labor, and equipment rates.
  • Budget locking and controlling for all projects.
  • Setting up processes and systems

Project Analysis:

  • Evaluate project risks, constraints, and opportunities that could impact cost estimates.
  • Conduct site visits to assess project conditions and gather necessary information.
  • Collaborate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive quotes.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Develop project budgets and ensure estimates are within the allocated budget.
  • Provide financial analysis and reports to project managers and senior management.
  • Assist in the preparation of tender documents, contracts, and bid proposals.
  • Support of optimisation of cost / benefit and various key figures
  • Initiation of action plans for target / profit achievement

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Prepare detailed estimate reports and summaries to present to stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate records of estimates, revisions, and final project costs.
  • Ensure all documentation is in compliance with company standards and procedures.
  • Creating cash flow reports in coordination with accounts and CRM
  • Margin analysis and information to business partners

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work closely with project managers, architects, and other team members to ensure that all estimates align with project objectives.
  • Participate in project meetings to discuss estimates, budgets, and potential cost-saving measures.
  • Provide support during the negotiation of contracts and change orders.Training junior staff
  • Training & development of subordinates

Continuous Improvement:

  • Keep up-to-date with industry trends, construction methods, and material costs.
  • Suggest and implement improvements in the estimation process to increase accuracy and efficiency.


Qualification Required

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.


Experience:

  • Minimum of 7-8 years of experience in construction cost estimation.
  • Proven experience in estimating for various types of construction projects (e.g., residential, commercial, infrastructure).


Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and processes.
  • Proficiency in estimation software (e.g., AutoCAD, Bluebeam, PlanSwift) and MS Office Suite.
  • Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.


Certifications: (Optional) Professional certifications like Certified Estimating Professional (CEP) or similar are a plus.


Physical Requirements:
  • Ability & Willingness to visit and inspect construction sites as needed.
  • Must be able to work in a agile office environment.
