Role : Staff Automation QA Engineer (Testing + IoT)
Years of experience : 7 to 10 years.
Location : Chennai (WFO)
Interview process : Virtual + In-person
As the Staff QA Automation , you will be responsible for leading the automation testing efforts for our IoT products. You will work closely with development, product management, and QA teams to design, implement, and maintain automated testing frameworks. Additionally, you will collaborate with the support team to address field issues reported by customers, provide effective solutions, and improve the test suite based on these issues. Your role will be crucial in ensuring the quality and reliability of our products through robust automation strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
Automation Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive automation testing strategy for both UI and API layers.
Framework Development: Design and maintain automation frameworks using Java and Python for test scripts, utilizing Selenium for UI testing and Postman and Rest Assured for API testing.
Test Execution: Execute automated tests, analyze results, and report defects. Ensure high test coverage and maintain test data.
IoT Focus: Leverage your IoT experience to address specific testing challenges related to IoT devices and ecosystems.
Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand requirements, identify testing needs, and deliver high-quality software.
Field Issue Resolution: Collaborate with the support team to address field issues reported by customers, provide timely and effective solutions, and enhance the product's reliability.
Test Suite Improvement: Continuously improve the test suite based on feedback and issues reported from the field to prevent future occurrences.
Mentorship: Lead and mentor a team of QA engineers, providing guidance and support to enhance their automation skills.
Continuous Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve test processes, tools, and methodologies to keep up with industry best practices.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
7+ years of experience in QA, with a focus on automation .
Proficiency in Java and Python programming languages.
Extensive experience with Selenium for UI automation.
Strong knowledge of API testing tools such as Postman and Rest Assured.
Solid understanding of IoT technologies and protocols .
Proven experience in developing and maintaining automation frameworks.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Experience working with support teams to resolve field issues and improve products based on customer feedback.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI).
Familiarity with performance and load testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner).
Knowledge of cloud platforms and services related to IoT (e.g., AWS IoT, Azure IoT, Google Cloud IoT).
Understanding of security testing principles and practices for IoT devices.
