Job DescriptionRole: Backup Administrator L1Location: Navi MumbaiRole SummaryThe Backup Administrator L1 is responsible for the daily operational execution, monitoring, and first-level incident support for the enterprise backup infrastructure. This role ensures the successful completion of backup jobs and handles basic restoration requests.Key Responsibilities:- Monitoring & Reporting:- Execute Daily backup Job monitoring and update the Daily Checklist accurately.- Acknowledge and perform initial triage on alerts related to backup failures.- Client & Job Management:- Assist with NetBackup client installation and basic backup commissioning tasks.- Perform preparation steps for routine backup types, including Normal File system and VM snapshot backup.- Execute the Manual SAR cycle operation as required.- Restoration & Recovery:- Fulfill and execute standard Data Restoration Requests (Network Backup).- Perform basic VM Snapshot Restoration tasks.- Storage Operations:- Assist with basic storage tasks related to backup copies, including FS Mounting/Unmounting and DG Import/Deport for BCV (Business Continuance Volume) based backups.Required Skills & Qualifications:- Backup Tool Knowledge:- Basic understanding of backup tools, specifically Veritas NetBackup.- Foundational understanding of the backup process flow and its components (daemons).- System Fundamentals:- Basic knowledge of Server Hardware, Operating Systems (OS), and their configuration files.- Basic knowledge of networking concepts related to backup communication (- General Skills:- Detail-oriented approach for accurate checklist maintenance and reporting.- Strong communication skills for escalating unresolved issues clearly.
