This role is responsible for creating and executing the vision for the pharmaceutical division, driving global expansion, fostering innovation across R&D and manufacturing, establishing and streamlining the supply chain, ensuring regulatory compliance, building a strong team, and maintaining relationships with key external stakeholders. The CEO should prioritize full regulatory compliance (USFDA, EU GMP, WHO GMP), the safety of all stakeholders, and the preservation of the values of this family-owned organization.Key Responsibilities:1. Strategic LeadershipDefine and implement a long-term vision and growth strategy for the API & Intermediates business.Drive expansion into regulated markets (US, EU, Japan) through CEP, DMF, and global filings.Identify new product portfolios aligned with therapeutic trends and market opportunities.Build strategic partnerships and contract development/ manufacturing alliances to scale operations.2. Operational ExcellenceOversee end-to-end plant operations including production, QA/QC, EHS, SCM, and engineering.Ensure high standards of quality, cost efficiency, and on-time delivery while maintaining best operation practices.Introduce digital systems for operational monitoring, predictive maintenance, and traceability.Oversee plant construction, technology transfer, and equipment installation.Establish robust supply chain and maintain vendor partnerships for raw materials and utilities.Implement strong EHS practices, ensuring sustainability and compliance.3. Regulatory & Quality GovernanceEnsure the plant is always auditableMaintain compliance with national and international regulatory agencies (CDSCO, USFDA, EDQM, EMA).Oversee preparation and submission of regulatory filings (CEP, DMF, ANDA support).Ensure robust quality management systems, compliance with regulatory requirements and promote continuous improvement frameworks.4. Financial & Business ManagementEnsure timely realization of project ROI, maintaining a continuous and sustainable flow of returns.Lead and manage the Pharmaceuticals (API and Intermediates) Division’s overall P&L performance.Drive cost optimization, pricing strategy, and profitability improvement initiatives.Monitor capital expenditure, plant expansion, and R&D investments.5. Team Leadership & Organizational DevelopmentBuild a high-performance leadership team across R&D, Operations, Regulatory, Supply Chain, QA, QC, EHS, and Sales &BD.Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and ethical business practices.Oversee HR strategy for talent acquisition, capability building, and retention.Inspire a culture of curiosity, innovation, and continuous learning by actively driving training and development initiatives.6.
