TechChefz - Network Security Engineer - Firewall

The Role :
We are searching for a skilled Network Security Engineer to join our growing team and champion the security posture of our network infrastructure.
In this role, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding our IT systems and data from cyber threats.
You'll leverage your expertise to design, implement, and manage robust security solutions, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our critical assets.
Responsibilities :
- Design, implement, and maintain comprehensive network security solutions, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and access control lists (ACLs).
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify and remediate security weaknesses.
- Monitor network activity for suspicious behavior and proactively respond to security incidents.
- Develop and enforce security policies and procedures to maintain a strong security posture.
- Stay abreast of the latest security threats and vulnerabilities, implementing proactive measures to mitigate risks.
- Collaborate with IT teams to integrate security considerations into all aspects of the IT infrastructure.
- Provide technical guidance and support to internal stakeholders on security best practices.
- Maintain detailed documentation of network security configurations and procedures.
- Continuously improve security processes and procedures to enhance our overall security posture.
Qualifications :
- 4-7 years of experience in network security administration.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field (preferred).
- Strong understanding of network security concepts, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, encryption, and network segmentation.
- Proven experience with security tools and technologies (i.e.- Cisco Security products, Palo Alto Networks, Fortinet).
- Experience with vulnerability scanning and penetration testing methodologies.
- Working knowledge of security protocols such as SSH, SSL/TLS, and 802.1X.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
