As a DevOps Engineer Specialist we are looking for candidates with a genuine desire and drive to deliver top technology solutions to today's markets.Team and Role OverviewNasdaq is seeking a Fintech Platform Engineering Specialist to join our Platform Engineering team. As a mid-level position within our growing team of experts distributed across multiple countries, you'll have the opportunity to work alongside established team members.Our team is responsible for the Fintech Platform - a strategic internal platform initiative passionate about standardizing and implementing Kubernetes at scale, along with other critical infrastructure products. This platform plays a vital role in modernizing Nasdaq's technical infrastructure and improving development efficiency across the Fintech organization.Role Responsibilities - In this role, you'll be primarily passionate about the migration of existing applications to Kubernetes and establishing robust observability practices, including: Converting current application deployments to Kubernetes-native solutions Developing and implementing Helm charts for containerized applications Maintaining and modernizing existing Ansible infrastructure during the transition Implementing and managing observability solutions using DataDog, ensuring comprehensive monitoring and alerting across our infrastructure Applying GitOps principles for infrastructure and application deployment Following SRE standard processes to maintain system reliability and optimize performance Advising development teams on containerization requirements and Kubernetes standards Collaborating across multiple teams and time zones globally This position offers an outstanding opportunity to drive Nasdaq's infrastructure modernization efforts while working with cutting-edge container orchestration technologies and modern observability practices. We expect you to have: At least 5-8 years of Devops Experience. Hands-on experience with Kubernetes cluster management and operations Proven ability to build and implement Kubernetes deployments and Helm charts Solid understanding of public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) Familiarity with observability tools, particularly DataDog Understanding of GitOps principles and basic SRE concepts Experience with infrastructure as code tools like Terraform Strong Ansible automation and configuration management skills Strong Linux system administration fundamentals Understanding of basic networking concepts (TCP/IP, VPNs, HTTP(S)) Experience with CI/CD pipelines Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail Good communication and coteamworkkills Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in information technology or similar qualification It would be excellent if you have: Experience designing custom Kubernetes operators or controllers Advanced Ansible roles and playbook development experience Familiarity with service mesh concepts Basic understanding of Java applications Experience working in an agile environment Knowledge of basic security practices for cloud environments Interest in learning about multi-cluster environments Experience working with development teams Prior exposure to financial services industry Come as You Are Nasdaq is an equal opportunity employer.
