Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Centre Manager to oversee the daily operations of our (Childcare/Preschool/Early Learning) Centre. The ideal candidate will provide leadership, administrative oversight, and strategic direction to ensure a high-quality, safe, and engaging environment for children, staff, and families. This role requires strong management, organizational, and communication skills to maintain compliance with regulatory standards while fostering a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Leadership & Staff Management:

Provide effective leadership to staff, ensuring a positive and professional work environment.

Recruit, train, mentor, and supervise educators, support staff, and administrators.

Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and implement professional development plans.

Maintain staff schedules and ensure proper staffing levels for compliance and smooth operations.

2. Operational & Administrative Management:

Oversee day-to-day operations of the centre, ensuring efficiency and adherence to policies.

Manage budgets, enrolment, and financial records, ensuring cost-effective operations.

Implement and maintain health, safety, and licensing regulations as required by law.

Develop and maintain centre policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with early childhood education standards.

Maintain accurate records for children, staff, attendance, incidents, and inspections.

3. Program & Curriculum Oversight:

Support educators in delivering a high-quality, play-based, and developmentally appropriate curriculum.

Ensure learning programs align with early childhood education frameworks and best practices.

Evaluate and improve learning activities, materials, and overall centre environment.

Foster inclusive education practices to accommodate diverse learning needs.

4. Parent & Community Engagement:

Act as the primary point of contact for parents, addressing inquiries, concerns, and feedback.

Organize parent meetings, orientations, and engagement activities to build strong family relationships.

Promote the centre within the community to encourage enrolment growth and partnerships.

Manage and resolve conflicts or complaints professionally and effectively.

5. Health & Safety Compliance:

Ensure the centre complies with child protection, safety, and hygiene regulations.

Conduct regular safety inspections, emergency drills, and risk assessments.

Maintain child health records, allergy lists, and medication administration procedures.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Education & Certification:

Diploma/Degree in Early Childhood Education, Childcare Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

Centre Director/Manager Certification (if required by state/provincial regulations).

CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain).

Experience & Skills:

Minimum 3-5 years of experience in childcare or early learning centre management.

Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

Experience in budgeting, enrolment management, and staff supervision.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with staff, parents, and stakeholders.

Knowledge of early childhood education frameworks, licensing regulations, and safety requirements.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent multitasking.

Occasional lifting of classroom materials or children (up to 25 lbs).

Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends for meetings/events.
