The Senior Backend Developer at Vision+ will be responsible for architecting, developing, and maintaining robust backend systems using Python as the core technology. This role requires a highly experienced individual with a strong background in backend development, particularly in building scalable, secure, and mature backend services for fintech and payment applications. A proven track record in developing reliable backend solutions with Python is essential, and experience with ERP systems, especially Odoo, is desirable.

Reports directly to the Head of Engineering.
c. Work relations
Collaborates with frontend developers, data engineers, DevOps, and product managers to deliver reliable backend solutions. Works closely with stakeholders to ensure backend systems meet the high performance, scalability, and security standards required in the fintech and payment services industry.
Roles and Responsibilities
• Design, implement, and maintain scalable and secure backend applications and services using Python as the primary language.
• Develop, optimize, and maintain RESTful APIs and backend processing systems that support high-transaction environments.
• Architect and build robust backend systems that ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with industry regulations.
• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to define requirements, create technical designs, and ensure seamless integration with frontend systems.
• Write clean, efficient, and reusable code, following industry best practices and maintaining high code quality standards.
• Lead efforts in optimizing backend performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement proactive measures to prevent downtimes.
• Mentor and support junior developers, promoting best practices in backend development and knowledge sharing.
• Stay up-to-date with backend development trends and bring innovative ideas and solutions to enhance the backend architecture.
• Contribute to ERP integration efforts, especially with Odoo, if applicable.
Job Requirements
Education
a. Essential
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Advanced knowledge of Python for backend development and related frameworks (e.g., Django, Flask).
b. Desirable
• Master’s degree in Computer Science or a relevant field.
Language

Proficiency in English.
Experience
a. Essential
• 10+ years of experience in backend development with a strong focus on Python.
• Proven experience in building scalable, secure, and maintainable backend services for high-demand environments, ideally in fintech or payments.
• Strong expertise in RESTful API design and implementation using Python frameworks.
• Experience with database design, both SQL and NoSQL, and optimization for large-scale applications.
• Familiarity with ERP systems, particularly Odoo, and experience in integrating complex backend services.
b. Desirable
• Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud for backend hosting and scaling.
• Knowledge of containerization tools, such as Docker, and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
