Role : Cloud Security Engineer


Experience Level: 1 to 3 years


Job Description:


Responsibilities:

A Junior Cloud Security Engineer is responsible for actively safeguarding an organization's cloud infrastructure, applications, and data on Endpoints, Azure, GCP and AWS cloud. This role involves hands-on experience in implementing security measures, responding to incidents, and enhancing cybersecurity practices in a cloud environment.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Cloud-native Security Services: Hands-on Knowledge of GCP and AWS services including security services for enhanced cloud protection.


  • Scripting and Automation: Knowledge of scripting to automate repetitive tasks and activities.


  • Knowledge of Security tools: Cloud security posture management, Vulnerability Management, Runtime Security (K8s, Container), SIEM, Cloud workload protection platform, & EDR\XDR


  • Threat Detection and Analysis: Actively monitor and analyze security threats using GCP and AWS threat detection tools, SIEM solutions, and threat intelligence feeds.


  • Networking Security: Configure and maintain network security groups, firewall rules, VPN connections, and other network security components in the cloud environment.


  • Misconfiguration & Vulnerability Management: Ensuring timely cloud security misconfiguration & vulnerability remediation.


  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed documentation of security configurations, incident response procedures, and remediation efforts. Generate reports to provide insights to relevant stakeholders.


  • Other:
  • Expected to be aware of IaaS, SaaS, and PaaS technologies and have the ability to learn new services and techniques around these modern cloud services
  • Assists in necessary software investigation, analysis, and evaluation to determine solution feasibility.
  • Develops their productivity skills by learning source control, editors, the build system, and other tools as well as testing best practices
  • Capable of taking well-defined sub-tasks and completing these tasks.


Required Qualifications:


1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems or related degree or equivalent work experience in a related field

2. Good presentation skills, interpersonal skills, written and communication skills

3. Experience with system administration, monitoring, trending, troubleshooting, and related technologies

4. Technical Support experience

5. Available to work various shifts to assist with providing 24 × 7 support

6. Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python

7. Security Certifications: Holding hands-on certifications like

  1. Google Cloud Professional Cloud Security Engineer.
  2. AWS Certified Security - Specialty
  3. CEHv12, ‎CompTIA CySA+, GCIH, GCFA, etc.
