Job Description:

The Business Analyst is responsible for delivering software solutions by supporting the software development life cycle. This role involves collaborating with business stakeholders to identify business needs, researching, and drafting business cases. The Business Analyst will elicit and analyze requirements using various techniques, translate them into actionable user stories, and prioritize the backlog. Acting as a facilitator between business stakeholders and the development team, the Business Analyst helps in designing the solution, validating the development work, and releasing the product to the market.


Key Responsibilities:

Conceptualization Phase:

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify business problems and opportunities.
  • Research and present a business case with expected benefits (ROI).
  • Elicit business requirements using various techniques (e.g., interviews, workshops, surveys).
  • Draft functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Analyze requirements and processes using business models (e.g., flow charts, diagrams).
  • Formulate the main backlog, create a product roadmap, and determine the release plan.

Solution Design Phase:

  • Draft user stories following the INVEST principles.
  • Map stories with the product user journey.
  • Partner with UI/UX designers to create wireframes or prototypes.
  • Establish acceptance criteria in collaboration with the quality assurance team.
  • Prioritize backlog items in conjunction with the product owner.

Development Phase:

  • Effectively communicate requirements to the development team.
  • Track the development process and update key stakeholders on progress.
  • Perform user acceptance testing (UAT) by validating the development team's work.

Maintenance Phase:

  • Gather and process feedback from customers and users.
  • Formulate the next backlog for continuous improvement.

Others:

  • Conduct product demos and user training.
  • Monitor and report key KPIs to various stakeholders.
  • Provide guidance to junior business analysts.
  • Generate and evaluate new business ideas.


Technical Skills:

Mandatory:

  • 5 to 10 years of experience as a Business Analyst.
  • Proficiency in writing user stories with INVEST principles.
  • Experience with JIRA and Confluence.
  • Strong understanding of Scrum and Agile methodologies.
  • Ability to use various business models (e.g., flow charts, diagrams) to analyze requirements.
  • Experience in competitor analysis and pricing strategies.

Nice to Have:

  • Exposure to the financial research domain.
  • Ability to perform stakeholder analysis.
  • Competence in cost-benefit analysis.
  • Understanding of networks, databases, and other technologies.
