Role Overview We are seeking a skilled Database Migration Engineer to lead and execute the migration of databases from Oracle to Postgre SQL. The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience in database administration, migration strategies, and performance optimization, ensuring a seamless transition with minimal downtime. Key Responsibilities Database Migration : Plan and execute the migration of databases from Oracle (11g/12c/19c) to Postgre SQL (12+), including schema, data, and logic conversion Code Refactoring : Convert and optimize PL/SQL code to PL/pg SQL, ensuring functional equivalency and performance improvements. Performance Tuning : Analyze and optimize database performance post-migration, addressing issues related to query performance, indexing, and data retrieval Required Skills & Qualifications Experience : Minimum of 3–8 years in database migration and administration, with a focus on Oracle to Postgre SQL migrations Database Proficiency : Strong command of SQL, PL/SQL, and PL/pg SQL. Migration Tools : Experience with tools like ora2pg, pg Loader, AWS DMS, and Flyway. Performance Optimization : Proficiency in Postgre SQL performance tuning, indexing, and replication
