Job Title: Instructional Designer and Storyboarder
Job Summary
The Instructional Designer and Storyboarder is a dual role responsible for designing effective training experiences and creating compelling visual blueprints that guide eLearning development. You'll collaborate closely with subject matter experts and project stakeholders to translate complex concepts into engaging, interactive learning modules.
Responsibilities
Instructional Design
Conduct needs analysis to identify knowledge gaps and performance objectives.
Define learning objectives that align with business goals.
Select appropriate instructional strategies and activities to achieve learning objectives.
Develop assessments and evaluations to measure learner progress.
Storyboarding
Develop detailed storyboards outlining content, screen layouts, visuals (e.g., graphics, animations, videos), and interactions.
Ensure storyboards align with instructional design principles and best practices.
Create storyboards that adhere to established brand and style guides.
Collaboration
Partner with subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather content and validate accuracy.
Work with graphic designers, developers, and other team members to bring concepts to life.
Incorporate feedback from stakeholders and learners to refine designs.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or a related field.
2+ years of experience in instructional design and storyboarding for eLearning.
Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.
Exceptional visual storytelling skills, with a keen eye for design.
Proficiency in storyboarding tools (e.g., PowerPoint, Word, dedicated software)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively.
Desired Skills
Experience with authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, Lectora)
Familiarity with graphic design or video editing software.
Understanding of accessibility principles (WCAG).
