Job DescriptionJoin Our Team as an Electrical Engineer in North Houston, TXWe are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to fill a direct hire opening in North Houston, TX. This role offers the opportunity to design and innovate electric motor controls for overhead cranes and hoists, collaborating with a dynamic team to drive product development and solve complex engineering challenges.

Key Responsibilities:Design:

Create electric motor controls for overhead cranes and hoists, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.

Application:

Apply specifications for Magnetic Motor Starters, Relays, and AC inverters.

Support:

Assist in all phases of product development engineering activities.

Calculations:

Calculate wire sizes and overload protection for cranes operating at voltages up to 800V DC and 4160V AC.

Problem Resolution:

Collaborate with engineers and technicians to resolve manufacturing issues.

Drawings:

Prepare single-line diagrams, panel layouts, and interconnect drawings.

Component Specification:

Size and specify purchase components and BOMs based on standards and vendor information.

Design Improvement:

Provide input for design improvements to enhance functions or reduce costs.

Circuit Modification:

Modify and improve existing circuit designs as necessary.

Collaboration:

Work with mechanical engineering and manufacturing teams on control system design.

Documentation:

Develop connection/cable diagrams and general arrangement drawings.

Field Support:

Travel to sites for meetings or troubleshooting control systems as required (up to 10% domestic travel).

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (Highly Preferred).

Experience:

3-7 years of experience as an Electrical Engineer, with a focus on Electrical Design and Motor Controls.

Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical 2016.

Experience with PLC Programming.

Familiarity with NEC Electrical Code.

No visa sponsorship eligibility.

Skills:

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Excellent collaboration and communication skills.

Preferred Technical Skills:

Experience with Zuken E3.

PLC & HMI programming with Rockwell, Siemens, or Danfoss PLC/VFD.
