We are looking for an accomplished Staff Quality Engineer to assist with the growth of the culture of quality for our organization. The Staff Quality Engineer ensures that our Quality Management System, Customer, and Regulatory Requirements are met. This position will assist with the ongoing monitoring, support, and continued improvement of Quality Systems, processes, and related activities. In addition, the Staff Quality Engineer analyzes process data and prepares trend analyses to support continuous improvement initiatives and prepares and executes procedures to conform to industry, customer and corporate standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Reviews established Calix processes, existing metrics, and actual development practices versus industry best practices to provide independent value-add analysis.

  • Responsible for assisting with Customer, Third party, Internal and TL9000/ISO Audits

  • Administer the implementation and continuous improvement of our Internal Audit program. Responsible for coordinating and scheduling customer system / product / process audits and ensures the necessary resources are available to complete.

  • Effectively apply risk-based approach, strategies and concepts in supporting company initiatives

  • Liaison with various teams that interface directly with Customers for Quality related concerns and issues.

  • Ensuring compliance to the Quality Management System and recommend improvements, as necessary, by actively identifying and addressing any gaps or discrepancies with our associated certifications and established internal processes.

  • Identify and support opportunities to expand the scope of our QMS.

  • Leading or participating in product or process improvement teams (e.g. HW/SW Dev) including the establishment, adoption, implementation and maintenance of processes and tools necessary to effectively track and implement opportunities for improvement.

  • Leading or participating in CAR investigations, including conducting thorough root cause analysis, devising action plan, implementing action plan, and determining effectiveness of CAR actions. Collect and analyze CAR related metrics

  • Assists Program Management and Quality personnel with solving program related quality issues/processes

  • Develop, provide and administer Quality training.

  • Support pre and post Management Review Meeting (MRM) activities.

  • Develop and maintain Quality website information

  • Mentor new and junior members of the team on available tools and processes

Skills and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree and minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Quality role.

  • Experience in determining quality level of complex systems made up of hardware and software components

  • Proven success with respect to compliance to ISO-9001or equivalent. TL9000 competency preferred.

  • Lead auditor training and/or certification preferred

  • Certified Quality Engineer (ASQ-CQE) certification preferred

  • Background in Telecommunications industry preferred

  • Knowledge of Jira, Atlassian and eQMS tools preferred

  • Background in ISO27001/2, NIST,  SOC 1 and 2, GDPR desired

  • Knowledge of data security and data privacy compliances desired

  • Objective and Data driven when developing solutions.

  • Process oriented to ensure consistent result/output.

  • Self-motivated individual who can work in a multidisciplinary team

  • Excellent at multitasking and prioritization of tasks

  • Strong interpersonal skills to lead and collaborate with other cross functional partners
