Mission of the Role: As a commodity buyer- strategy & execution your role involves seamlessly integrating procurement execution with sourcing functions, overseeing a thorough management of category lifecycle from pursuit through to end-of-life (EOL) stages, within the context of conducting group searches for new models. Additionally, the role entails leading initiatives in new supplier development, vertical integration, localization, market tests, value analysis/value engineering (VAVE), and other global initiatives.

Key accountabilities / How You Will Spend Your Days

Closely partnered with Product Line Management on category directives

New supplier development, vertical integration, localization, market tests, VAVE, and other global initiatives

Communicates product strategy and technology requirements to Technology Leads

Initiates RFQ/Pursuit via Program, maintains central spec/SSOW/volumes to Technology Leads

Receives/compiles quote inputs from Technology Leads

Presents at sourcing board and executes sourcing

Surcharge tracking

EOL management

Service agreements

Key Performance Indicators

Contribute to annual corporate savings target.

Provide on time quotes for RFI/RFQ’s

Leverage IC cost model and identify achievement

Develop strong relationships with key cross functional stakeholders.

Key Year One Deliverables:

Learn Visteon, Suppliers, and technology. Become effective member of the global team

Understand and document product platform architectures.

Summarize commodity market outlook

Develop relationships with global stakeholders and key suppliers.

Take lead on global negotiations, grow experience and respect.

Report-out and present to Senior Management

Technical Knowledge and Skills

4 years of working experience (Cost-engineering/procurement) in a cross functional team organization.

Market knowledge of direct products in Commodity.

Proven track of negotiations (supplier/customer).

Supplier audit performance knowledge including value stream analysis is desirable.

High level of commercial acumen combined with a precise and careful way of working.

Passion for technology and investigation of undiscovered potential in design or supplier base.

Capability to stay focused and calm in a demanding business environment.

Strong communicator who is fluent in English (writing and speaking).
