Job Location: Bangalore, Karnataka (On-Site)
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supports configuration management, design and development of space systems, satellite integration, and testing.
Perform analysis of satellite functional, performance and interface requirements.
Spacecraft validation and spacecraft verification on system level.
Work in collaboration with Subsystem engineers.
Flow down of the satellite requirements to subsystem level specifications.
Manage overall satellite design definition and analyse.
Using traditional and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) approaches contribute to the development all work products which may include:
Concept of Operations (ConOps)
System Architecture
Requirements and Interface Control Documents
Mission and System Analysis
Trade Studies
Supports requirement verification through the assembly, integration, and test process, including system-level test.
Contributes to conduct of program design and readiness reviews.
Mission performance budgets and technical system budgets (electrical power, propellant, telemetry, command, pointing, mass properties etc.,)
Define the satellite configuration and manage the satellite internal and external interfaces.
Ensure compliance to the satellite technical requirements.
Define and maintain the Satellite Development Plan (SEP) that includes satellite AIV.
Support the generation of the AIT plans and operation plans.
Define Test Specifications for System Level Tests and Verification.
Create and maintain general system interface and environment specifications.
Contribute to the project management, risk management for risks of technical nature etc.,
Supervise preparation of satellite tests and review of test results.
Contribute and communicate for Launch, with launch vehicle company and support post launch communications.
Qualifications and Experience:
5 -7 years professional design/development experience in satellite systems.
Skill in using and creating software tools to model systems performance across a variety of disciplines (MATLAB, Python, Excel, etc.)
Strong understanding of satellite technologies, design principles, and concepts of operations
Bachelor’s degree / masters in electrical or systems engineering, or related field
Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
Ability to rapidly expand application specific knowledge sets and skills where necessary.
Passion for understanding complexity and finding answers to challenging questions.
Previous experience with spacecraft and/or space mission top level design
Previous work on small LEO satellites
Breadth of experience leading satellite systems development and testing
Experience with creating satellite simulations and models
Satellite operations experience
