Role Description

Test Automation Architect is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automated testing frameworks and solutions to ensure the quality and reliability of software applications. The role requires a strong foundation in full stack development with expertise in both Java and JavaScript, comprehensive experience in API development and testing , and a deep understanding of test automation tools and frameworks. Experience with cloud environments and prior successful implementation of enterprise-level automation will be highly valued, along with domain experience in banking .

Responsibilities:

Full Stack Development for Automation :

  • Utilize full stack development experience to design and build scalable, maintainable, and efficient test automation frameworks using Java and JavaScript.
  • Collaborate with development teams to ensure seamless integration of automated tests across both frontend and backend components.


API Development and Testing :

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust APIs for automated testing requirements.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive test strategies for API testing, including functional and regression.


Automation Execution and Maintenance :

  • Lead the implementation and execution of automated test scripts for both frontend and backend components, covering functional, regression, and performance testing.
  • Maintain and update test automation frameworks to accommodate new features, enhancements, technology changes, and regulatory requirements in the banking domain.


Enterprise-Level Automation Implementation :

  • Drive the design, development, and deployment of enterprise-level automation solutions that scale across multiple projects and teams.
  • Leverage prior experience in successfully implementing automation at an enterprise scale to optimize test processes and improve overall quality assurance practices.
  1. Continuous Integration and Deployment (CI/CD) :
  • Integrate test automation with CI/CD pipelines to ensure continuous testing and rapid feedback loops.
  • Work closely with DevOps teams to optimize the automation testing process within the deployment pipeline.


Cloud Integration and Management :

  • Leverage cloud platforms and services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) to enhance test automation scalability, flexibility, and efficiency.
  • Ensure that automation solutions are optimized for deployment in cloud environments, utilizing cloud-native tools and best practices where applicable.


Mentorship and Training :

  • Mentor and train QA engineers and developers on test automation best practices, tools, techniques, full stack development principles, and cloud-based automation strategies.
  • Promote a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and improvement within the team.



Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Hands on programming knowledge is must
  • Strong proficiency in full stack development, including both frontend and backend technologies, with expertise in Java and JavaScript.
  • Experience in developing test automation scripts and frameworks for both frontend and backend components.
  • Hands-on experience with test automation tools and frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress, WebDriverIO, TestNG, JUnit, Jest, or Mocha.
  • Proven experience in implementing automation at an enterprise level, including successful deployment across multiple projects and teams.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, BitBucket) and integrating test automation into deployment pipelines.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms and services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is an asset.
  • Familiarity with banking applications, financial transaction workflows, or regulatory compliance requirements is a plus.

Preferred Experience:

  • 9+ years in a test automation role, with at least 2 years in a full stack development capacity or as an architect or lead.
  • Proven track record of successfully designing and implementing test automation frameworks for large-scale applications.
  • Experience in agile development methodologies and working with cross-functional teams.
  • Prior experience in the banking or financial services domain is highly desirable.
  • Certification in test automation tools, API development, cloud platforms, or relevant technologies is a plus.
