Programme Overview

Peepul has been partnering with the School EducationDepartment Govt of Madhya Pradesh for multiple years now. Workingclosely with the state bureaucratic leadership Peepul has played ameaningful role in strengthening the education system of the state.The partnership has been a successful one with national andinternational recognition of the work. One of the flagshipprogrammes of the state we are coleading is the CMRise Teacher Professional Development programme. This international awardwinning programme looks tostrengthen the training coaching and performance management of the300000 teachers across the state.

About the role

The Project Manager at Peepul is purposedriven activelysharing the organisations values and accommodating diverse workingstyles to enhance team performance. They serve as an impactorientedindividual contributor or team manager leading program componentsindependently with highquality output. Taking ownership of theworkstream process the Project Manager thinks entrepreneuriallyseeks opportunities to broaden impact and fostersorganizationbuilding events. They develop expertise throughresearch leverage organisational resources and contribute tovaluable knowledge assets. As a leader the Project Managercommunicates openly builds rapport across the organisationenergises the team and effectively manages their energy levels.

The role of the Project Manager is critical tothe success of the continued partnership with the Government ofMadhya Pradesh towards achieving quality education for all and toPeepuls strategic objective of supporting quality improvement inthe public school system in India. The Project Manager will be anexcellent team player who will independently lead and drive thedesign and delivery of interventions towards the support andaccountability of teachers and academic officials of thestate.

Responsibilities wouldinclude (including but not limited to):

  • Leading project design piloting andimplementation of interventions towards academic reforms
  • Taking the lead on one or moreinterventions/workstreams within the CM Rise TPD programme focusingon teacher support accountability and student learning improvement.
  • Designing piloting and developing theinterventions (e.g. Professional Learning Communities supporting acadre of mentor teachers Recognition mechanisms remedial learningand techbased learning solutions creating digital or facetofacetraining courses etc.) in collaboration with governmentcounterparts
  • Applying content knowledge andclassroom experience to develop these interventions that will leadto shifts in teacher mindset knowledge and practice. Leading thepilot of interventions documenting learnings and evolving thedesign to have a greater impact at scale.
  • Working closely with government stakeholders to build knowledge andbuild capacity towards improved implementation.
  • Defining success metrics and growthaspirations for the project and communicating effectively with allstakeholders.
  • Plan and sequence theimplementation of programme interventions (such as ProfessionalLearning Communities and digital courses) in close coordinationwith the Project Coordination team and organizational subjectexperts.
  • Facilitating sessions (e.g. trainingfocus group discussions learning circles) with teachers schoolleaders cluster and block officials as required on highimpactteaching practices and working closely with Teacher EducationInstitutes district block and cluster officers to ensurehighquality academic mentoring.

EducationalBackground: A relevant educational background inEducation Social Sciences Public Policy or a related field.

Work Experience: We value both professional and personal experience.Candidates with 46 years of experience leading and managingeducationrelated projects preferably within the public schoolsystem or education nonprofits. particularly in areas such asdesigning and implementing academic reforms or educationalinterventions. Preference will be given to candidates who also havedirect classroom and teaching experience ideally within thegovernment school system.

OtherSkills : Strong project management skills includingplanning implementation and evaluation of interventions.

Language Proficiency: English and Hindi
