Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Drug Delivery Specialist with a strong background in oligonucleotide synthesis and characterization. The ideal candidate will hold a PhD in Chemistry with post-doctoral research experience and industrial expertise in oligonucleotide and peptide synthesis. This role involves the development and characterization of novel drug delivery vehicles and requires a deep understanding of chemical modifications in oligonucleotide drug design.
Key Responsibilities:
Synthesize and characterize oligonucleotides (DNA, RNA) with various modifications, including Locked Nucleic Acid (LNA), 2'F, 2'OMe, 2'MOE, and morpholino oligonucleotides (PMO).
Develop and optimize drug delivery vehicles for oligonucleotide therapeutics.
Conduct assays to analyze the efficacy and stability of novel drug delivery vehicles.
Perform conjugation of oligonucleotides with peptides (CPP, fluorescent tags, etc.) and small molecules using different chemical reactions (amide, click, enzyme, etc.).
Synthesize antisense oligonucleotides (ASOs) with Phosphodiester and Phosphorothioate (PS) linkages.
Develop methods for purification and characterization of chemically modified and conjugated oligonucleotides using techniques such as HPLC, IEX, SEC, Precipitation, and Gel.
Utilize various analytical techniques (LCMS, MALDI, etc.) for detailed characterization of oligonucleotides.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive research projects and contribute to the development of new drug delivery systems.
Maintain accurate and detailed records of experiments and results.
Qualifications:
PhD in Chemistry with a focus on oligonucleotide and peptide synthesis.
Strong background in oligonucleotide synthesis and characterization.
In-depth understanding of various modifications involved in oligonucleotide drug design.
Experience in developing and optimizing drug delivery vehicles.
Proficiency in conducting assays for the analysis of drug delivery systems.
Post-doctoral research experience and industrial experience in the field.
Demonstrated history of working with synthesis and modifications of oligonucleotides, including conjugation with peptides and small molecules.
Experience in method development for purification and characterization of oligonucleotides.
Familiarity with analytical techniques such as LCMS and MALDI.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
