Regulatory Affairs Manager ITC Foods

Location: Bangalore

Experience: 10+ years

We are looking for a seasoned Regulatory Affairs Manager to join our team at ITC Foods.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead regulatory compliance for food products across the US (FSMA, 21 CFR, USDA including NOP), EU, GCC and other international markets which includes Regulatory and Food Safety compliances w.r.t. the Finished product, Ingredients used in Finished products, Packaging related regulation and Sustainability related aspects of importing country.

  • Prepare and ensure compliance for raw materials, ingredients, and finished goods specifications including:

  • Ingredient composition

  • Contaminant & residue limits (pesticides, heavy metals, microbiological limits)
  • GRAS & food additive provisions

  • Review and approve labelling and marketing claims

  • Partner with R&D, Quality, Procurement, and Supply Chain teams to integrate the given country compliance requirements into new product development and raw material sourcing.
  • Prepare, review, and submit regulatory documentation for product approvals, facility registrations, prior notices, and organic certifications.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure all product documentation meets relevant market standards.

Stay updated on international food regulations, interpreting changes into actionable strategies for the business.

Develop AI/IT based Dashboards and compliance tools for ease of the operations and keep updating the same as the environment changes.

Risk Management: Identifying and mitigating regulatory risks associated with exporting food products.

  • Develop Horizon Scan/Mapping system (Risk Identification, Assessment and Management) including verification and validation of the system on periodic basis. Maximize opportunity & minimize regulatory risk by guiding business decisions at cluster or category level.

  • Impact Assessment: Assessing the impact & implication of new regulations on the company's product portfolio/business.

Documentation: Whenever required, Preparing and maintaining documentation for product registrations, notifications, and approvals in export markets.

Protect the intellectual property of our products and processes.

Investigate customer/consumer complaints using root cause analysis and work with department managers to determine what corrective and preventive actions are necessary. Evaluate product Packaging practices in the Global markets and prepare an assessment matrix to adopt the best practices.

Collaboration: Develop the stakeholder mapping & network, build long-term relationship, and influence within the trade associations and regulators for each market (wherever/whenever required) to drive & execute regulatory advocacy agenda, as part of technical working groups.

Requirements:

10+ years of proven experience in food regulatory affairs, with strong expertise in US and international labelling compliance.

In-depth knowledge of FDA and other global regulatory frameworks.

Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to lead compliance initiatives across markets.

Support VP & Head Regulatory Compliance, Policy & Advocacy in offering expert advice on regulatory matters and also to other teams, stakeholders and departments.

Training and Support: Training staff on regulatory policies and procedures.

Audits: whenever required, Participating in regulatory and quality audits.

Experience in CODEX related activities is preferable.
