Job Description: Fashion Design Intern (Uniforms)


Position Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and creative Fashion Design Intern to join our team, focusing specifically on uniform design. This internship provides a unique opportunity for individuals interested in fashion design to contribute to the development of uniforms for various industries, including hospitality, healthcare, corporate, and more. As a Fashion Design Intern specializing in uniforms, you will work closely with our design team to create functional, stylish, and professional uniform solutions tailored to our clients' needs.


Responsibilities:

1. Collaborate with the design team to research industry-specific requirements and trends related to uniform design.

2. Assist in creating sketches, technical drawings, and mood boards for new uniform concepts, considering factors such as functionality, durability, and brand identity.

3. Conduct fabric and material research to select appropriate textiles for uniform construction, considering factors such as comfort, ease of care, and sustainability.

4. Participate in fittings and assist with garment construction, patternmaking, and alterations as needed to ensure optimal fit and functionality.

5. Work closely with suppliers and manufacturers to source materials, trims, and accessories for uniform production, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness.

6. Collaborate with the marketing team to develop visual presentations and marketing materials showcasing uniform designs for client presentations and promotions.

7. Assist with the creation of tech packs and specification sheets detailing garment construction, sizing, and materials for production.

8. Support administrative tasks such as organizing design schedules, maintaining sample inventory, and communicating with clients and suppliers.


Requirements :

1. Currently enrolled in or recent graduate of a fashion design program or related field (preferred but not required).

2. Strong interest in uniform design and an understanding of the unique considerations involved, including functionality, branding, and industry regulations.

3. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator) and other design software.

4. Basic knowledge of garment construction, patternmaking, and sewing techniques.

5. Excellent sketching and illustration skills.

6. Creative problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

7. Strong organizational and time management skills.

8. Effective communication and teamwork skills.
