The Advanced Engineering department has aneed for a Platforms Development and Operations Technology Leadthat will work closely with our strategic partner who will providesupport for all of the departments platforms and some legacyplatforms like Open Text App Works IBM BPMS IBM WebSphere MicrosoftBiztalk and others. As these platforms are being consolidatedacross IT areas dedicated focus is needed to ensure the highestlevels of service to all application areas that utilize them. Thataccountability will be driven by the Platforms Development andOperation Manager.

This isa senior leadership role and will be accountable for operationalsupport of multiple digital Products/Services within the AdvancedEngineering Group of IT with various stakeholders at all levels.The Development & Operations Manager will be accountable forplanning directing and coordinating medium to largescale moderatelycomplex products; ensuring that the goals and objectives areaccomplished with high quality within established time frames andbudget and meet customer and/or business needs. Concurrent withdelivery goals the Delivery and Operations Manager will beresponsible for designing and implementing fullscale worldclassOpen Source based Integration and solutions and IT OperationsService Management and ensuring that the platform and servicesremain available to meet business defines SLAs and SLOs. Inaddition to engineering responsibilities this role is Responsiblefor providing 24X7 Support and handling incidents in a timelymanner by triaging and communicating with internal and externalcustomers in a DevOps model.


TheDevelopment & Operations Manager is expected to drive thecontinued support of the strategic technological platform insupport of business segments and will be responsible for managingcrossfunctional projects in adherence with companys programdelivery framework. The incumbent will also be responsible foridentifying recommending and implementing best practice solutionsthat optimize fullscale ITSM service delivery with the goal ofdelivering expected business continuity. The incumbent is alsoresponsible for optimizing the service delivery function by usingthe DevOps deployment pipeline for the timely availability of theproduct and services in production and nonproductionenvironments.

EngineeringLeadership

Develop flexibleadaptable modular and reusable business solution designs incollaboration with product delivery and engineeringteams. Accountable for end to end productsdelivery Work closely with Product Owners Scrum Masters Architectsand Engineers to ensure alignment of program deliverables to thedefined solution Work with developers closelyto review code enforce best practices debug critical issues andconduct performance testing to deliver efficient and performantapplications. Building highperformingrelationships driving business engagement managing expectationsaligning with senior leadership and working teams on initiativedeliverables Responsible for identifyingtechnology risks and corresponding mitigation strategies Implement appropriate solution architecture governanceprocesses and tools as defined by enterprise architecture whileensuring the solution focuses on design patterns and technologystandards. Adopt Agile and DevOps practices incollaboration with the business architecture group programmanagement and operations/support/infrastructure teams. Explore evaluate and promote technology innovation withinthe company enterprise. Evaluate learn andassist teams with open source technology solutions. Handson engineering/architecture experience Hands On Tech Stack > (Kafka Camel Spring Boot JavaVolante/XSLT 3.0 Kubernetes/Docker Containers) ELK Dashboard/UI and Prometheus experience Basic Kubernetes Docker Linux and Azure skills; must havehandson Camel skills Exception and LogManagement Detailed Analysis ofrequirements Breakdown of reusable componentsfor the framework for each business process step Detailed Design flow and documentation of orchestrationlogic in details Mapping needs anddocumentation Design Custom vs. Reusablecomponents HandsOn research to supportdevelopment (POC Sample Codes Best Practices)

OperationalExcellence

Provide operationalexpertise in:

  • Design of systembusiness requirements for the build of new products in the AdvancedEngineering Technology Platforms in the Integrations MiddlewareBusiness Process Management and API Management;
  • Act as a lead coordinator between Operations Leads andOur strategic partners that will be providing support for ourplatforms.
  • Map out a roadmap and plan forincremental patches and full version upgrades asrequired.
  • Engage with Engineering andArchitecture with regard to platform usage to determine appropriatesupportlevel activities per platform.
  • Engagewith Delivery teams on specific monitoring and alerts needed forpreproduction and postproduction support. Work closely with the APMteam to ensure proper monitoring is in place and current for eachnew initiative.
  • Recommend skills and resourceson an ongoing basis as the portfolio of platforms grows and thevolume of projects and support needs expand.
  • Establish dashboards for platform operational health andspecific dashboards for critical Tier 1 application/platformusers.
  • Provide ongoing monitoring of allplatforms and establish alerts to the L1/L2 support team whereneeded.

  • EnsureOperational benefits on time to budget and with the appropriatelevel of quality
  • Ensure an appropriatestructure is in place for the continuous delivery of core platformcapabilities enterprisewide business mandates and controls.Identify justify and modify roles and responsibilities as necessaryto stand up and maintain this structure
  • Securethe internal and external resources required to fulfill the plandevelop and ensure the program has relationships with dependent andcorresponding system teams. Foster a diverse and collaborative teamspirit
  • Guide and evaluate the performance ofall resources on the program and in support of the platformliaising closely with resource/line and thirdpartymanagers
  • Build strong relationships withbusiness operations and I/T to ensure the program is being directedbased on current views needs and in line with roadmappedstrategies. Assure that the platform is meeting the financialefficiency and quality objectives as established by executiveleadership in these areas
