We are seeking an experienced Devops Engineer with expertise in metric solution design, deployment and Scalibility for TSDB (Time Series Database), Prometheus, Cortex, Thanos. to join our team. As a DevOps Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, implementing, and optimizing metric solutions for monitoring and observability purposes. Your deep understanding of TSDBs, Prometheus, Cortex, Thanos, dimensioning methodologies, and scalability design will be crucial in ensuring scalable, reliable, and performant metric systems.


Responsibilities:


  • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) on metric solution design, TSDB, Prometheus, Cortex, Thanos, with dimensioning methodologies, and scalability design.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including DevOps engineers, software developers, and system administrators, to understand business requirements and design appropriate metric solutions.
  • Design and architect scalable and reliable metric systems using TSDB technologies such as Prometheus, Cortex, and Thanos.
  • Develop custom metric collectors, exporters, and integrations to gather and store metrics from various sources.
  • Implement and configure Prometheus, Cortex, and Thanos for efficient metric storage, retrieval, and analysis.
  • Define monitoring and alerting rules to ensure timely detection and response to critical system events.
  • Work with cloud platforms, such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, to deploy and manage metric systems in a cloud-native environment.
  • Collaborate with Kubernetes teams to deploy and orchestrate metric systems within Kubernetes clusters.
  • Optimize metric storage, query performance, and resource utilization for efficient and cost-effective operations.
  • Implement and configure Grafana or other visualization tools for creating dashboards and reports based on collected metrics.
  • Apply dimensioning methodologies such as multi-dimensional modeling and OLAP techniques to design efficient data models for analytical workloads.
  • Conduct performance tuning and optimization of metric systems for high scalability, low latency, and efficient dimensioning.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in metric solutions, TSDBs, Prometheus, Cortex, Thanos, dimensioning methodologies, scalability design, cloud computing, and Kubernetes.
  • Collaborate with the broader monitoring and observability teams to align metric systems with overall monitoring strategies.
  • Document the design, architecture, and configuration of metric systems, including dimensioning methodologies and scalability design, and provide training and knowledge sharing to team members.


Requirements:


  • 3 to 5 year Extensive experience as an SME and Devops practises in metric solution design, TSDB, Prometheus, Cortex, Thanos, dimensioning methodologies, and scalability design.
  • Strong expertise in designing and implementing metric solutions for monitoring and observability purposes.
  • Proficiency in using TSDBs like Prometheus, Cortex, and Thanos for metric storage, retrieval, and analysis.
  • In-depth knowledge of metric collection mechanisms, exporters, and integrations with various systems and applications.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and deploying metric systems in a cloud-native environment.
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes and experience deploying and managing metric systems within Kubernetes clusters.
  • Strong understanding of monitoring and alerting concepts, including setting up monitoring rules and thresholds.
  • Experience with Grafana or other visualization tools for creating informative and interactive dashboards.
  • Good to have Knowledge of scripting and programming languages (such as Python, Go, or JavaScript) for automation and customization of metric solutions.
  • Understanding of DevOps principles and practices, including CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code.
  • Experience with dimensioning methodologies such as multi-dimensional modelling and OLAP techniques.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex metric system issues.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field is preferred.
