Snowflake SRE

Overview: The SnowflakeSite Reliability Engineer (SRE) with AWS Terraform plays a crucialrole in ensuring the availability reliability and performance ofSnowflake products. This position is essential for maintaining astable infrastructure and continuous improvement of the platform.The SRE collaborates closely with the engineering and operationsteams to address service failures and deployment challengesimplementing effective monitoring and automationsolutions.KeyResponsibilities:

• Design and developinfrastructure as code using AWSTerraform.
• Implement solutions to monitor andoperate the Snowflake platform.
• Automateroutine tasks to enhance system reliability andefficiency.
• Perform capacity planning andmanage the scalability of the Snowflakesystem.
• Collaborate with crossfunctional teamsto resolve operational issues and optimize systemperformance.
• Participate in oncall rotation andrespond to incidents to minimizedowntime.
• Conduct regular reviews of systemconfigurations and architecture to identify and address potentialweaknesses.
• Ensure compliance with security andregulatory requirements.
• Contribute to theevolution and improvement of the Snowflake platform by providinginsights and recommendations.
• Documentprocesses procedures and configurations related to infrastructureand operations.
• Participate in the evaluationand implementation of new technologies and tools to enhance theplatform.
• Collaborate with development teams toimprove application performance andresilience.
• Conduct performance testing andanalysis to optimize system efficiency andreliability.
• Stay updated with industry trendsand best practices in cloud infrastructure and reliabilityengineering.
• Ability and experience with thedevelopment of processes and procedures to standardize Databaseconfiguration
• Extensive experience withimplementation and maintenance of Disaster Recovery and Highavailability.
• Ability to work on unusuallycomplex technical problems and provide solutions that are highlyinnovative and ingenious.
• Ability to providetechnical documentation and project plans for technical staffmembers.
• Excellent communication presentationand customer relationship skills.
• Excellentorganizational and time management skills to handle multiple taskssimultaneously

RequiredQualifications:

• Bachelors degree inComputer Science Information Technology or relatedfield.
• Minimum 5 years of handsonadministration experience from setting up the Snowflakeenvironments to successfully administering it (AWSpreferred)
• Experience automating scripting andstreamlining processes for efficiency and accuracy utilizing Unixshell scripting Python etc.
• Some experiencewith AWS with knowledge of S3 EC2 VPC IAM Security networkingetc.
• Demonstrated expertise in configuring andmaintaining AWS infrastructure usingTerraform.
• Proven experience in designing andbuilding faulttolerant scalable and secure cloudsolutions.
• Strong proficiency in scripting andautomation using Python Shell or similarlanguages.
• Experience with monitoring andlogging tools such as CloudWatch Prometheus andGrafana.
• Familiarity with containerization andorchestration technologies like Docker andKubernetes.
• Solid understanding of networkprotocols security principles and bestpractices.
• Ability to troubleshoot complexissues and perform root cause analysiseffectively.
• Excellent communication skills andthe ability to collaborate effectively with diverseteams.
• Certifications in AWS and/or Snowflakeare a plus.
• Experience in Agile DevOps or SiteReliability Engineering practices isdesirable.
• Ability to work in a fastpaceddynamic environment with a focus on continuousimprovement.
• Strong problemsolving skills and aproactive approach to system reliability andperformance.
