Job Purpose:

To manage and oversee the purchase of steel & iron raw materials, consumables, and related items for the plant. Ensure timely availability of materials at the best possible cost and quality, while maintaining smooth vendor coordination and compliance with company procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Handle end-to-end purchasing process for raw materials (iron ore, coal, scrap, ferro alloys, etc.) and consumables.
• Raise and process purchase orders (POs) as per approved requirements.
• Negotiate with suppliers for best prices, delivery timelines, and credit terms.
• Ensure timely availability of materials to avoid any production delays.
• Maintain vendor records, price lists, and purchase documentation.
• Coordinate with the store, accounts, and production team for smooth workflow.
• Follow up with suppliers for on-time delivery and material quality checks.
• Monitor market rates and update management about price trends.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, purchase procedures, and audit requirements.
• Assist in developing and maintaining strong vendor relationships for reliable supply.

Key Skills & Competencies:

• Strong negotiation and vendor handling skills.
• Good knowledge of steel & iron raw materials and consumables.
• Familiarity with purchase systems, ERP/Excel, and documentation work.
• Ability to manage multiple suppliers and orders simultaneously.
• Good communication and coordination skills.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Graduate in Commerce / Engineering / Supply Chain / Materials Management.
• MBA (Materials / Operations) preferred.
• 8–12 years of experience in purchase function, preferably in the steel & iron industry.
• Hands-on experience in raw material buying and vendor coordination.

Pay: ₹30, ₹50,000.00 per month
