Engineer is responsible for managing or performing work across multiple areas of the bank's overall IT Platform/Infrastructure including analysis, development, and administration. It may also involve taking functional oversight of engineering delivery for specific departments. Work includes: •Planning and developing entire engineering solutions to accomplish business goals •Building reliability and resiliency into solutions with appropriate testing and reviewing throughout the delivery lifecycle •Ensuring maintainability and reusability of engineering solutions •Ensuring solutions are well architected and can be integrated successfully into the end-to-end business process flow •Reviewing engineering plans and quality to drive re-use and improve engineering capability •Participating in industry forums to drive adoption of innovative technologies, tools and solutions in the Bank.What we’ll offer youAs part of our flexible scheme, here are just some of the benefits that you’ll enjoyBest in class leave policyGender neutral parental leaves100% reimbursement under childcare assistance benefit (gender neutral)Sponsorship for Industry relevant certifications and educationEmployee Assistance Program for you and your family membersComprehensive Hospitalization Insurance for you and your dependentsAccident and Term life InsuranceComplementary Health screening for 35 yrs. and aboveYour key responsibilitiesDevelop a good understanding of the activities required to execute the development/bug fix activity.Actively participate and contribute in Agile ceremonies including Daily Stand up’s, Sprint Planning, Sprint review, Sprint retrospective meetingsTake part in software and architectural design activities and support business analysts in designing new features.Perform analysis, development, testing and debugging/defect fixing for the assigned stories/bug fixes.Develop the required functionalities using the appropriate Mainframe technologies.Write unit tests for the developed code.Recommend changes to improve established Mainframe application processes.Integration of changes with other user stories developed by team members.Deployment in Development/integration/UAT environmentsCreate required documentation for the project.Meet the SLA’s for any assigned defects.Development and delivery KPI’s shall be met.Shall be ready to learn new mainframe technologies as per the project requirements.Provide 3rd level support for the application.Your skills and experienceMust HaveDeep knowledge of COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAMSignificant development experience, working within an agile environment and using modern engineering practices and unit testing.Ability to debug existing code and fix issue/problems.Must aware at least one scheduling tool like OPC/Control-M/CA7Must have version control tool knowledge like SCLM/Endeavor tool.Architecture and design approaches that support rapid, incremental, and iterative delivery, such as Domain Driven Design.Deep knowledge of SQL/SPUFI/QMF and relational databases.Good to have experience on FILE AID/ BMC Tool.Must be aware about incident/change management.Soft skillsHelp create a culture of learning and continuous improvement within the team and beyond.Share skills and knowledge in a wide range for topics relating to software delivery.Experience / Qualifications:Minimum 8-12 years relevant experience as Mainframe Developer and Maintenance within the IT support industry, experience in Banking Industry preferred.How we’ll support youTraining and development to help you excel in your careerCoaching and support from experts in your teamA culture of continuous learning to aid progressionA range of flexible benefits that you can tailor to suit your needs
