About Our Company
Harcept provides a wide variety of IT services to small & mid-sized business, although the company itself is a young operation.
Our primary focus has always been to offer the same centralized support capabilities that every large corporation has at a fraction of the cost to our customers. Ultimately, we pride ourselves on the ability to provide a long term and proactive relationship with our customers. Essentially, we help perpetuate the growth of these smaller companies by helping them escape the large overhead costs of an in-house IT department.
Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper to manage financial transactions, maintain accurate records, and ensure compliance with accounting regulations. The ideal candidate will have experience in accounting, familiarity with bookkeeping software, and a strong understanding of financial processes.
Duties and Responsibilities
General Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile the company’s general ledger, ensuring that all financial transactions are accurately recorded.
Accounts Payable & Receivable: Process invoices, track payments, manage vendor accounts, and ensure timely collection of outstanding receivables.
Bank Reconciliation: Perform monthly bank reconciliations, ensuring consistency between company records and bank statements.
Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
Payroll Support: Assist in processing payroll and ensure compliance with tax regulations and employee benefit deductions.
Tax Compliance: Assist with preparing tax returns and maintaining necessary documentation for tax purposes.
Financial Documentation: Maintain and organize financial records, ensuring they are easily accessible and compliant with legal requirements.
Budget Assistance: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and monitor expenses to ensure adherence to financial plans.
Software Management: Utilize accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) to manage financial data and generate reports.
Audit Support: Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation
Qualifications and Skills
Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage).
Solid understanding of general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with integrity.
Strong written and verbal communication skills .
Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred).
Relevant certification (e.g., Certified Bookkeeper) is a plus.
