Senior QA Engineer – OTT Platforms (iOS, Android, Smart TV & Web)

Location: Chennai

Employment Type: Contract to Hire (C2H)

Experience Level: 4 to 7 Years

Work Mode: Work From Office (WFO)

Notice Period: Immediate Joiners or up to 15 Days (Serving Notice)

Note: Experience with OTT platforms is mandatory (minimum 1 year) across iOS, Android, Smart TVs, or Web.

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior QA Engineer with proven experience in OTT platform testing . This role requires both manual and automation testing capabilities across iOS, Android, Smart TVs (Samsung, LG, etc.), and Web platforms . The ideal candidate should have a strong command of Java-based test automation frameworks , along with solid exposure to QA best practices , tools, and processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive manual and automated testing across OTT platforms (mobile, Smart TV, and Web).
  • Develop and maintain robust test automation scripts using Java, Selenium, Appium, and Cucumber .
  • Apply Test-Driven Development (TDD) methodologies to ensure high test coverage and early defect detection.
  • Design and execute detailed test plans, test cases, and regression suites tailored to OTT applications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to log, track, and resolve bugs using tools like JIRA .
  • Conduct thorough API testing using tools such as Postman and REST Assured .
  • Use tools like Charles Proxy to analyze network traffic and debug streaming performance issues.
  • Integrate test automation into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI).
  • Maintain clear and concise documentation of QA processes, test results, and best practices.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 4 to 7 years of professional experience in software quality assurance.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience testing OTT platforms (Amazon Prime, Zee5, etc..).
  • Strong hands-on experience with Java , Selenium WebDriver , Appium , and Cucumber .
  • Solid background in both manual and automated testing .
  • Familiar with TDD , Agile development methodologies, and sprint-based QA planning.
  • Proficient with API testing tools (Postman, REST Assured).
  • Experience using network debugging tools like Charles Proxy .
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.).
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with performance testing for video streaming, playback validation, and adaptive streaming scenarios.
  • Familiarity with device-specific behaviors on Smart TVs and media players.
