Preferred qualifications:

LLISc (Master of Library & InformationScience) degree from a recognised university or MS LIS from DRTCwith 2 years of experiecne in academic/ researchlibraries
Proficiency in MS Office Koha DSpace portal management & IT Tools/ systems
Fair understanding of digital resources literaturesearching & discovery systems
Flexibilityto work in extended library hours & shifts
Strong organizational skills with the ability tomultitask and prioritze effectively
Passionfor world class institutions of higher education

Responsibilities:

Workin all sections/ functional areas like information retreivaldigital resource user profiles circulation desk and documentprocessing & floor management
Develop thestrategy and action plan for Library services to ensure thedelivery of efficient library services the provision of appropriatecollections of information resources and information access and thedevlopment of information resource discovery mechanisms to meet theevloving needs of faculty students and researchers support staffand alumni
Develop and manage Library servicesbudget and resource allocations to ensure they meet establishesobjectives operating within BSMS financial regulations &policies
Increase engagement with Libraryservoces across BSM and promote the value of resources in thelibrary and archives
File the necessaryreports with State Libraray system
Develop andmaintain the library website
Determine problemareas or areas where imprived services may be introduced andtake
Oversee the selection and generalcollection of books and other items and resources contained in thelibrary
Review books. periodicals andcollections which are outdated or not used and coordinate removaland disposition
